A rumor has been heard about an internal memo from Meg Crofton, President of the Walt Disney World Resort, that has cast members all abuzz.
According to an inside source, Ms. Crofton has been very concerned lately about a dramatic increase in incidents where cast members are late returning to work after a break period. Additionally, in one instance, a friend of Mickey failed to make a scheduled character meet and greet period. Princesses are frequently being spotted running back to the Castle. Only 5 of 7 dwarfs have been appearing in the SpectroMagic parade some nights. And Tinker Bell missed her cue during the Wishes! fireworks spectacular and appeared to be reading a book during her flight from the castle.
“After an extensive investigation, we believe we have determined the source of the problem,” says Ms. Crofton in the memo. “Therefore, effective immediately, all copies of The Walt Disney World Trivia Book, Vols. 1 and 2, must be removed from cast member break areas and rest rooms.”
“However,” continues the memo, “recognizing the significant impact these books have had on our organization, and having enjoyed a few hours of private time with them myself, I believe it is time these volumes are given their rightful place in the World.”
Some of the proposed changes outlined in the memo include:
- Effective immediately, the Walt Disney World Trivia Books will be sold in every gift shop resort wide. A window in the Emporium will be dedicated to the books.
- All new cast members will add both Volume 1 and Volume 2 to the required reading list for the Traditions course.
- The replacement of “Storytime with Belle” with “Trivia Time with Belle.”
- Jack Sparrow´s Pirate Training will be replaced with “Who Wants to Be a Triviateer?”
- The renaming of “Pecos Bill´s” to “Pecos Lou´s”.
- The Main Street U.S.A. window directly above the watch shop, heretofore known as “The Spot,” will be dedicated to “The Man Who Knows it All, and Can´t Stop Talking About It on the Podcast,” Lou Mongello.
- All members of the DisneyWorldTrivia.com “family” will receive free lifetime passes to Walt Disney World.
