Why Every Walt Disney World Fan Needs to Visit Disneyland – roundtable

Welcome to the WDW Radio Show – your Walt Disney World Information Station. This is show #58 for the week of March 16, 2008. I am your host Lou Mongello, and I want to thank you for tuning in again this week.

I just returned from Disneyland in California, and wanted to not just take a look back at my trip, but wanted it to be informative and interesting for the listener. I was pleasantly surprised at just how much I enjoyed my experience at the parks, and realized that there was so much to discuss and introduce people to, that I invited in my friends, travel companions and frequent WDW Radio Show guests Jeff Pepper, George Taylor and Eric Hollister in for a roundtable discussion simply entitled: Why Every Walt Disney World Fan Needs to Visit Disneyland.

  1. Chuck Zitta says:

There’s no question that Disneyland has rides that are superior to Disney World. Personally, for me, one example would be when I was 8. We visited Disneyland and I was amazed by the Pirates attraction. 15 years later, when visiting Disney World for the first time on your honeymoon – when we went on Pirates – it felt to me like something was missing. At the time, I thought it was just because of the fact that I was older, so the attraction didn’t appear to be as “grand” to someone at the age of 23 vs. 8. But, now that I have become more connected to the Disney experience, I can clearly see that yes, indeed, the Disney version of Pirates is superior. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Disney World has its strong points as well. Both places are worth the trip! Some day, I hope to get back to Disneyland. It’s been almost 43 years since I’ve visited, and clearly, need to go again to experience all that Disneyland has to offer. Walk’n on Pooh! Instant classic!!! Great show, Lou.
