Disney Resorts News – week of May 25, 2008

May 27th, 2008 @ 8:24 pm by Lou Mongello

Three bits of resorts news from Walt Disney World:

Demolition of the Treehouse Villas has begun, and can be seen by Guest traveling on DVC way or golfing at the nearby courses. Disney has not released any official information as to how these new Treehouse will be used by Guests in the future.

The Wave, the upscale restaurant and lounge on the first floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort has opened Advanced Dining Reservations for June 7, 2008 for the Dinner Seating only. It is expected to possibly soft-open earlier than that time and take seatings on a walk-up basis only.

The Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Resort is serving a limited sushi menu at dinner, beginning May 25th, as part of a trial program. Unsure how long the trial program will last or if it will become a permanent addition to the Kona Café menu.
