ESPN The Weekend returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios February 27 – March 1, 2009. This unique sports-themed special event will feature ESPN personalities, live on-site telecasts of popular ESPN shows, and more than 30 legendary athletes including NFL quarterbacks Kurt Warner and Brett Favre; 2009 MLB Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson; and U.S. Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson. There will also be an ESPN Sports Zone interactive area and “Dream Job – The Experience” where guests can experience what it would be like to audition for ESPN. New this year is a 5K race through Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Saturday, February 28th at 7:00 a.m. The course will feature ESPN and sports trivia along the way, athletes and ESPN personalities including Anderson, Ravech and Wingo. The race is sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods and will benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research. All participants receive a T-shirt and finisher’s medal.
