As heard on The WDW Radio Show, show #110, for the week of March 15, 2009

An article in last week’s Orlando Sentinel suggested that Iron Chef Cat Cora is planning to open a restaurant in Walt Disney World, possibly in one of the theme parks, in 2010. Disney has not yet confirmed the rumor and the page on the Sentinel’s web site has since been removed. We will keep our eyes open for more on this.

UPDATE 3/16/09: Confirmed! Disney has announced that Cat Cora will open a new restaurant, to be called Kouzzina, in the fall of 2009. The restaurant will be located on Disney’s Boardwalk, where Spoodles is currently.

Walt Disney World will be introducing a new reservation system called “ala carte” (applications for celebrations, activities, recreation and special events) to replace the current Dining Reservation System. This will allow not just Cast Members, but Guests and travel agents to make dining reservations online! It also will allow a Cast Member who is working in a Guest’s reservation to see what type of room and dining package they have, and assist with reservations, etc. that might best suit the Guest’s preferences.  It will also speed things up, as it will be able to check multiple dining locations at once, store them in a shopping cart type system, then book them all at once, rather than having to go back and put in information more than once. Bookings have already begun using the new system for all dates after May 26. Events before then still use the old system and are not available for online bookings.
