Recently, the Disney Parks Blog featured a number of videos using a photography technique known as “tilt-shift,” which makes everything appear as though it is in miniature. These time-lapse videos proved to be incredibly popular, as their “Model Days” at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot brought Disney magic into people’s homes like never before, and as no one else can do. Be sure and check them out on the official Disney Parks Blog.
But I thought it would be fun to try my oh-not-so-very-talented hand at creating a tilt-shift photo, as I was needing a bit of a “Disney World fix” myself today. And one of my favorite lands in the Magic Kingdom is Adventureland. Visually stunning and full of a spectacular palette of colors and textures, it is a land that is certainly meant to be savored and explored.

And as long as I was at it, I thought, “What better to make a miniature of… than a miniature!?” So, I headed (pardon the pun), over to Shrunken Ned’s Junior Jungle Boats, which allow you to pilot miniature version of Jungle Cruise boats through “dangerous” waters, filled with volcanoes, and yes, even headhunters, as evidenced by the photo below.

I hope you enjoyed these, and please remember that they are first tries, I’m using a tiny little point-and-shoot, and I’m certainly no Gene Duncan! If you like what you see, let me know, and if so, look forward to more in the future!
