My favorite is still the mickey premium bar, whenever i want a snack thats what i get
I’ve had the carrot cake cookie, and it is amazing… it’s true, you can’t eat one by yourself. I’ve tried! Also, I have GOT to try one of those Starring Role cupcakes. Those things are huge!
Great video! Please make more. Now i am hungry..
Hand-made ice-cream cookie sandwich from main street bakery or sleepy hollow.
Totally agree…it’s not a trip to the Studios without a stop at Writers Stop for a carrot cake cookie. It’s even better when the Spectacle of Lights are running and you have a hot cappacino to go with it and you can just sit and enjoy the lights and music.
You need to taste the allergy cookies. Both brands are delicious!
Chocolate Shake at Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner
Agree about Min & Bill’s – have you tried the new sandwich wraps??
Hot Dog in a Pretzel roll, Bratwurst & Sauerkraut in a Hoagie Roll, Italian Sausage, Peppers and Onions in aHoagie Roll and Chicken Ceasar Salad sandwich roll! Awesome!
Loved this!! I’ve been so remiss in enjoying some of the snacks WDW has to offer since my mom is notorious for booking ADRS every 3 hours for us!
I definitely need to check some of these out – wonderful video!!
Wow—I was taking notes so that I don’t forget to get one of each of the snacks that you showed–especially the Carrot Cake Cookie!!!! YUMMY!!
Great video, Lou! Thanks for the tip about the Carrot Cake Cookie! The Writer’s Stop is a favorite, but I have not tried it yet. It’s now on “The List” for October!
This is a great segment!!! The studios is one of those places that I unfortunately seem to always fly through and never think of stopping for food or looking for hideaway places….definitely thinking of that carrot cake cookie!!! I’ll try it in 2 weeks!!
Thank you Lou for this AWESOME segment! and i’ll have to try some of the wraps at Min & Bill’s. I’ll be back at WDW in May, and I cant wait to try all these great snacks you showcased today!
I absolutely love the Writer’s Stop. Shockingly, I’ve never had a Carrot Cake Cookie (up until recently, I thought Carrot Cake was yucky! I mean c’mon, it’s got CARROTS!) I’ll have to try it next time!
“I mean c’mon, it’s got CARROTS!”
Exactly!! See?! It’s even HEALTHY!! And cream cheese is one of the four basic food groups, right? Oh wait, I mean it’s on the base of the Food Pyramid, isn’t it? LOL
They used to have the nacho cheese stuffed pretzels at Min & Bills. One of those and a beer on a hot day and I would be in heaven. When we went in December, they were gone! Bring back the pretzels!
We used to LOVE the Strawberry vanilla swirl available at the Enchanted Grove near the Tea Cups in MK. Sadly, they don’t serve them anymore
I SO wish they would bring them back. We used to get them every trip.
in the “sweets” category
the raspberry white chocolate cookies [the ones that are as big as your fist!]- those are a favorite…and the gingerbread…
but the carrot cake cookie-palooza is #1!
Make mine the Dole strawberry bar!
I discovered the Starring Rolls Cafe on my last visit to Hollywood Studios last summer. Watching the video gave me a craving to be back there again to try some more of the cakes out – unfortunately, being in the UK I don’t think that is going to be any time soon.
Thanks for posting this, I felt like I was right there with you! I personally like the candy apples attached to the villain shop!
Great snack tour! Starring rolls- one of our favorites- that chocolate peanut butter cupcake -mmmmm breakfast of champions!
oh and a carrot cake cookie ? Are there raisins in those?
My favorite used to be the stuffed pretzels at Min and Bill’s, but they’re not on the menu anymore. However, my NEW favorite snack is the hot dog on a pretzel roll at Min and Bill’s, haha.
Hmm… don’t think there’s raisins in the cookie. But maybe I should go have another one and check. You know… just to be sure!
Great video! And thanks for making me hungry … Mmm … Mickey bar! Although I must say that the carrot cake cookie looks to die for! I’m just going to have to get down to WDW — from Seattle — to try one! Or does anyone know if they’re available anywhere on the West Coast?
My husband still loves the Mickey Ice Cream on a stick. When he has a snack (treat) that’s it for him. I love the Chocolate Chocolate Cake in France (Epcot), that’s my MUST HAVE treat when visiting WDW.
Ice cream from Gertie the dinosaur or the hand scooped ice cream near the Tower of Terror on Sunset Boulevard!
Lou,
Thanks for the great video – I truly enjoyed it!
I love Disney’s turkey legs, but those glazed nuts and the carrot cake cookie look so gooooooooooooood!
Thanks again!
The fudge in the Apothecary is just a distraction from the real treat: marshmallows on a stick covered in chocolate and Oreos.
Nothing beats a chocolate chip muffin and a mickey milk on the boardwalk.
Awesome video! I’ve missed out on the snack diversity by sticking to what I know… popcorn and Mickey bars. I am definitely going to expand my horizons and check these foods out. Thank you Lou for another great and educational video!
I enjoy going to the bar at the 50’s Prime Time and ordering up a Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake! Those are quite delicious. Also, enjoying the Carrot Cake Cookies at The Writer’s Stop with friends is quite special too. Thanks.
I love the chocolate covered frozen bananas (although I’ll make a special trip from any of the parks to get Dole Whip at MK). My favorite thing used to be the fudge in a metal tin that had a plastic knife in the package. Then they switched to cardboard boxes, and now I can’t find them anywhere – I miss the boxed fudge because it was so easy to take home!
A lot of the things you showed look really good but my sentimental favorite in all the parks has to be the churro. I find myself at work sometimes craving that sugary-cinnamony-crunchy stick of deliciousness.
My favourite snack in WDW is the Fudge Mud Slide at Beaches and Cream. In the parks it’s popcorn and a margarita slushie from the Mexico pavillion.
Loved the idea! Quest for the Best!
In DHS we love milkshakes as an afternoon snack, and although we have eaten at writer’s stop, we have not ordered the carrot cake cookie.
Must order a c3 when we go (only 12 more days!!!)
My husband and I both loved the new segment, Lou. Can’t wait for the next one.
Hey Lou,
Here’s a little popcorn trivia for you!
WDW popcorn from the popcorn carts may taste “buttery” as you mentioned in the video, but they do not contain any butter whatsoever! That’s right, the popcorn is both gluten free AND dairy free and hands down my DS’s favorite food allergy friendly snack in any park.
Now for me, I’ll take some of the chocolate covered strawberries at the Scary Apothecary! YUM!
Lou, I enjoyed this video a lot. Please keep them coming!! And I can’t wait to try the carrot cake cookie once I get there in June! I don’t think I’ve ever even been inside the Writer’s Stop. Just something else to look forward too!
Dole Whips
I love this topic! The snacks are all so yummy at WDW! Part of me does ask if the popcorn, Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, ice cream sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, or the Dole Whip would hold up outside of WDW at their prices if compared to movie popcorn (yeah, probably cheaper at WDW), a box of Dove ice cream bars (I think the same chocolate), ice cream sandwhiches at Potbelly sandwiches, Godiva chocolate covered strawberries, or Cold Stone Creamery snacks?!? What?? Was that sacrilege?!?
My favorite snack at WDW, though, has to be the frozen OJ with vanilla soft serve at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland. They have replaced the frozen OJ with some orange cream product in the softserve twist, but you can still sweet talk the CM to pour the frozen OJ in a cup and then add plain vanilla soft serve. Mmm, so yummy! The tartness of the frozen OJ blends so well with the vanilla soft serve! This was always a family tradition for me as we were growing up and one that I have implemented with my family after I got married! I hope they don’t do away with the frozen OJ all together….that would make me very sad.
Ok, now I want a carrot cake cookie.
Lou, if I may and it’s within your budget, I’d like to put in my bid to be your cameraperson. Not that you don’t do a great job of hosting and shooting (simultaneously no less), but “why should you?” I ask. I am a very capable shooter (check out some work at http://www.DaveAndAugie.com) and I know I can do right by you. No, this isn’t just a shameless attempt by me to hang out with you in Disney World (Ok, maybe it is a little), but just one man looking to help another. What do you say, are you game?
Look to the cookie Lou, look to the cookie!!!
