EPCOT Center.
That’s what it was called way back when. With that name came the promise of new technologies showcased throughout the park that is known, appropriately enough, as Future World.
Among those promises was one that I personally was looking forward to. Beyond the futuristic marvels that the park would reveal, one place that I was anxiously awaiting was a simple arcade. Why? You ask? Maybe not even for what joys could be found inside for just a quarter, but for its name: The Tron Arcade.
Originally located in Communicore West was the EPCOT Discovery Center, a research center all about EPCOT and Walt Disney World (later called “Ask EPCOT” and then EPCOT Outreach), the Sunrise Terrace Restaurant, and eventually the Expo Robotics show.
But at one point, there were plans for a TRON arcade in this location. But sadly, despite all of my letter writing, it never came to pass.

And while that arcade may never arrive, one thing that I AM looking forward to is the Disney Digital 3D release of Tron: Legacy later this year. Are you? If not, watch this trailer and see if that changes your mind!
