Listen to the Show

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #220 for the week of May 1, 2011.

This week, we’ll take a close look at entertainment in Walt Disney World that offers more than simply a passive experience. They are actually living characters, which help make up the story of the Disney parks. Talented, surprising, and always interactive, they are Streetmosphere, and can be found in more places than you might realize. We’ll look at their history at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, who they are and where you can find them, how to get the most out of the experience and more.

I’ll also share an announcement about a unique way to enjoy and experience Walt Disney World, talk about some upcoming events and share some other information before playing some of your voicemails at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

Streetmosphere in Walt Disney World and an Announcement

I LOVE the Citizens of Hollywood! They are my favorite part about visiting WDW, even more than the rides and the food (*insert Lou Mongello gasp here*) We’ve had great encounters with Honey Darling, Melvin Macheesemo, Daisy Day, Dara Vamp and Shelby Mayer (a personal favorite of mine). We’ve got tons of video of them from our last two trips if anyone wants to see them:

  2. Caryn says:

My family and I have encountered streetmoshpere actors a couple of times. While at HS waiting for the parade to start we had a couple of actors ask us where we were from. They sang us a song all about Indiana, it was hilarious! Another time was at MK in Tomorrowland near the Galactic Goodies shop. The talking trash can asked my kids questions and made jokes it even spun around in circles singing. The kids giggled all day! These encounters definitely made our trip more memorable.

Great show this week Lou & Chuck!

You mentioned about the ex-Adventurers’ Club cast members now being streetmosphere actors 🙂 … a friend of mine was in WDW and recognised a CM from the AC – she said to him “I think I met your cousin at the Adventurers Club a few years ago!” .. the CM smiled at her and didn’t need to ‘break character’ – thought that was nice story & a way to interact with the actors!

  4. Hey! In this episode you talked a little bit about Divine, and I thought I’d share a photo that I took of her. I’ve entered it into many art shows and she has helped me out with a few awards, enjoy.

I was waiting for you to mention Push, the talking trash can in Tomorrowland. He is my favorite. Always great entertainment!

  6. Bobby Friedman (DisneyB12) says:

Love the Jungle Book opening, George Bruns at his best.

  7. Chuck Zitta says:

Really enjoy the extra effort Disney puts into the details; including streetmoshere. They go the extra mile to make things just that much more special for all of us. Their efforts are well appreciated by our family and I’m sure, by all other Disney fans as well. Thanks again, for another terrific show, Lou!!!
