Video: The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, USA in Walt Disney World

Join Lou Mongello from WDW Radio as he explores this hidden treasure of the Walt Disney World

The Harmony Barber Shop was established, according to story, in 1886, and is a real, working barber shop, complete with three old-style barber chairs. Here, you or your children can get a haircut, with special treatment given to those children who mark their visit to WDW with their first haircut. Complimentary Mickey ears, complete with “First Haircut” embroidered on the back are given as a souvenir of the occasion.

The Original Harmony Barber Shop  was located on West Center Street (off Main Street USA), from 1971 – 2001. It was filled in by the Emporium’s northward expansion in 2001. West Center Street included not just the original Harmony Barber Shop but the Livery Stable, Champion Cyclery and Chinese Hand Laundry facades. The Harmony Barber Shop is now located in “building #43” between the Car Barn and the Emporium on the West side of Town Square.

It is incredibly well-themed, just like the rest of Main Street with turn-of-the-20th century décor like pinstriped wallpaper, dark carved wood cabinetry, potbelly stove, old-fashioned phone, 100-year-old hat rack and more.

Go visit, look around, enjoy the details, and get you or your children a haircut, right in the middle of Main Street, USA!
