Epcot Food and Wine Festival Special Events Review – Party for the Senses & the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #243 for the week of October 9, 2011.

The annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival has become a destination event for both Disney World enthusiasts and food lovers from around the world. In addition to the kiosks, seminars, tastings and signings, there are also a number of special events to further enhance the experience. This week, we’ll review two of those special celebrations – The Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic, and the Party For The Senses. We’ll discuss the venues, menus, entertainment, recommendations, value and more.

I’ll have a few announcements and then play more of your voicemails at the end of the show.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

We went last year and absolutely loved it! I wrote up a guest review on the Disney Food Blog:

I have attended the Party for the Senses every year since 2004, with the exception of 2008 when we did the Disney repo cruise through the Panama Canal instead. I can’t say enough good things about the Party. For the last two years we paid the extra to sit in the Wine View Lounge. Being there makes the evening much more relaxing as we don’t have to take part in the mad rush for a table, and we always have an excellent view for the entertainment. Plus, you get a goodie bag when you leave. All in all, the Party for the Senses is the highlight of the Food and Wine Festival for us!

Went to the Food and Wine Classic both nights. So much better and more fun when they moved it inside Saturday night due to the weather. Great food, great drink and great music. Worth every penny Saturday night. Not so much Friday due to closures due to rain. Looking forward to 2012s Food and Wine Classic. Truly a WDW “must do” though we doubt Stacey will mention it.

Did you say “golf tournament”?!!! Huge golfer here. My wife loves her wine and I enjoy just about anything (that includes food too – of course). We have not bee to The Food and Wine Classic as of yet, BUT, sounds like a great fit for us. We experienced the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT about 10 years ago, when our two boys were 10 and 7, and had a great time. I remember the boys getting to make their own ceramic pots, somewhere between Germany and China. They put their names on the bottom and we picked them up later in the night. Very cool memory. The artist who assisted them was very friendly and helpful in assisting the boys with their pottery. Moonshine bar! Would like to try that. The food is always phenomenal. Love the variety and trying all the different foods, not normally available in World Showcase. Party for the Senses sounds amazing as well. Love Cirque Du Soliel, saw the show in Disney Springs on our last trip down. Can just imagine how great their performance would be at Party for the Senses. Including the “pretzel lady”! Ice wine, again, my wife would love it. 16 glasses!!!? Too funny. Yes, I’m a wine rookie, so this would be a good “learning experience” for me as well. And the foods you mention, like pumpkin pie ravioli, sound amazing! Very fun to listen to. Thanks again for another fabulous show, Lou, Glen, Deanna and Beci!!!
