I love all the music in the America Pavilion. Being a vocal major in college I have always envied the singers in "The Voices of Liberty" and then you spoke about the Fife and Drum Corp that plays outside. I grew up in a F&D Corps in Connecticut and I have gotten to talk to them numerous times. They are so talented and I'm jealous of them not only doing what they love, but being able to be part of the Disney family. Great show as always!

That "HAT LADY is unbelieveable, It is a wonder how she remembers every visitors name and where they are from, and everything about each and every person she has spoken to. and then sings a song about them..
She desierves a medal withut a doubt, . Even the children are enthralled with her when they are able to come to the piano and sing all the wonderful Disney songs with her. She's amazing.
You should check out how talented she is, wonderful with the guests, many styles from classical to jazz, and how she plays both in a mixture..

Hi Lou....was listening to your podcast about the live music at EPCOT. You mentioned there was not live music in China. Isn't there a lady who plays a traditional Chinese instrument (something like an auto harp that is plucked and strummed) who performs a few numbers prior to going in to see the Reflections of China movie? Enjoy your work...thanks !

Hey Lou-
Just listening to this on my way to work and had a few thoughts... as a professional musician, it's a well known fact that Disney isn't our best job opportunity. They were some of the first to go all around the World with the mass cuts mentioned before (darn you Eisner). I have friends/coworkers that know members of the former "Tuba-Fours" a quartet that started at MGM (I think) and were fired right before tenure would have kicked in.. And I'm always curious and look at the audition websites to see that they rarely hire live musicians, so the odds of them bringing in new music groups is lovely, but unlikely. And if someone decides that live music is worth the money, I'll be in line for that audition! BTW - if you come up to the DC area, I'll show the actual military group that the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps is copying. http://www.disneybabiesblog.com/2011/05/beyond-america-pavilian.html

Hi Lou,

I just wanted to bring up one musical group that I miss desperately from EPCOT. That would be Future Corps. They were an absolutely incredible small drum and bugle corps that played in Future World a la the Jammitors. They were unfortunate victims of Disney's mass layoffs in May 2000. I still miss them today. We always made a point to seek them out.

Thanks so much for the show!
