Interview with Disney artist Alex Maher
Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #247 for the week of November 6, 2011.
This week I’ll introduce you to Alex Maher, an artist from the Disney Design Group who will share not just his personal journey about following his dream to work for Disney, but more about his roles while at Walt Disney World, projects and merchandise he’s worked on, and advice for those looking to pursue their own passion and help make magic for others.
I’ll have a few announcements and then play more of your voicemails at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show
Thanks for listening!

Loved this episode, Lou. Felt like I was sitting in the office with you and Alex Maher. I’ll bet his “collectibles” were a sight to see given his experience and role at Disney Deisgn. Thanks for always putting 110% into your episodes.
By the way, CONGRATULATIONS again on being awarded Best Travel Podcast.
Oh to be you for even a day!!
Thank you for bringing the magic to us through the podcasts and Celebration!!!!
Great interview, Lou. Along this same line, I’d love to hear you do an interview with Kevin Kidney, he’s sensational as well.

Great episode Lou! I learn something new everytime I listen to the show! You can never have enough of the Disney Magic!
I would have to say my favorite piece of Walt Disney World merchandise, would have to be the Giclee I have of Walt standing by his desk with a small, very subtle image of Mickey in a photo frame sitting on the desk. It sits just to the left of our computer (home office), on the wall for inspiration, and as a reminder to never give up.
Now, if I went outside of WDW, I would have to say my favorite piece of Disney merchandise would be the white porcelain cup with Disneyland, and my name, just below it, in metallic gold lettering. It is so simple, but, so special. It is the first piece of merchandise I received on our first trip to a Disney park, back in 1973 when I was a young boy.
Thanks again, for a fantastic interview with Disney artist Alex Maher, Lou!!!
