Did You Know?

February 23, 1927 -the first of Walt’s “Nine Old Men”, Leslie James Clark, begins work at the Disney Studios in Hollywood, California

Other Notable Disney Dates:

February 19, 2010 – Disneyland announces the return of the 3D film, Captain EO, starring Michael Jackson.

February 20, 1986 – WED Enterprises is renamed to Walt Disney Imagineering. The word “Imagineering” is a combination of the words IMAGINation and EngiNEERING???

February 21, 1995 – The Walt Disney Company, partnered with AT&T, announce the newest thrill ride at Disneyland will be Indiana Jones Adventure

February 21, 2002 – A new tombstone, dedicated to Leota, is placed in the graveyard near the entrance to one of Walt Disney World’s most beloved attractions, The Haunted Mansion.

February 22, 2009 – WALL-E wins Best Animated Feature Film at the 81st Academy Awards and is nominated for Best Original Song, Best Sound Editing, Best Original Score and Best Sound Mixing.  Johnny Depp also wins for his performance in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl at the Screen Actor Guild Awards.

February 24, 1985 –  The Disney Clothiers opens in the Magic Kingdom

February 25, 1991 –  The Frontierland shop, The Bearly Asleep, in the Magic Kingdom closes

Who were Walt’s “Nine Old Men” and what role did they play?

 

Candra Spirtoff and Megan Voisard are identical twins, born and raised in Cincinnati,  Ohio. They both graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Candra with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Assisting and Megan with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.  They currently work as a paralegals for a local law firm.  Their passion is anything and everything Disney, and they have visited WDW almost every year since 1988, at the age of four.
