Top Ten Audio Animatronics in Walt Disney World, Disney Trivia Contest and more!
Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #295 for the week of October 7, 2012.
I’m here to help you have the best possible Disney vacation experience, and bring you some Disney magic to to wherever you are with this podcast, videos, blog, live broadcasts, events, trivia books, CDs and more. You can find it all at WDWRadio.com
From Walt’s mechanical bird to the most advanced figures in the Disney parks, Audio-Animatronic characters have been an integral part in storytelling in attractions from the very beginnings of Disneyland. So this week, we’re going to explore the history of these figures, and then take a look at our Top Ten Audio-Animatronics in Walt Disney World.
Were you able to identify last week’s mystery sound clip from the parks? See how well you did and then answer the Walt Disney World Trivia Question of the Week for your chance to win a Disney prize package.
I’ll then have some announcements at the end of the show, including information about upcoming events and live video broadcasts. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.
Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

My favourites, not so much from a technical standpoint, but rather for their iconic status are the blushing bride-to-be and “the redhead” from Pirates of the Caribbean. The auction scene is the highlight of the attraction for me and I don’t think any other animatronic in the parks convey their personality so quickly and succinctly as these ladies.
Not too advanced, but I love Teddy Berra’s feet as she swings in CBJ.
I love the entire ballroom scene in the Haunted Mansion. Especially the two gentleman having a duel coming out of the paintings.
Sonny Eclipse.
It’s gotta be the bathing elephant on the classic attraction that is the Jungle Cruise
There’s this one fishing goose in Splash Mountain…. don’t know what it is about him…
I’m going to pick Ben Franklin in American Adventure, because I still love and admire the stair thing.
I just wanted to say to Karen who called in with the voicemail about getting choked up in the grocery store that I had a similar experience, just last week. I was listening to mouseworldradio on my phone, and the soundtrack from Wishes came on. I got so choked up, I was trying to keep it together so people wouldn’t think I was crazy, but I got caught by a couple who were looking at me funny. I had to take out my earbuds and explain. I’m not sure it made me look any less crazy, but whatever. A taste of DIsney makes the grocery shopping so much easier!!
I have a few favorites I love disney and audio animatronics
they are the sea serpent from 20,000 leagues under the sea ,
Henry from the country bear jamboree , sonny eclipse , the alien from alien encounter , buzzy from cranium command , the sea serpent from world of motion, bonnie appetite from kitchen karbet and the dream finder and old figment animatronics from journey into imagination plus the wicked witch from great movie ride and the dragon from fantasmic
I say if the imagineers can figure out a way to make the yeti work and last ahwile I say shut her down and refurb the attraction. I think it could plus the experience enough to make it worth being without for awhile.
