Disney from a Twenty-Something: Merry Christmas!

by Caitlin Corsello

It is hard to believe that it is already Christmas, but I wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone in the WDW Radio family out there a very happy holidays! Since I began writing for the blog this past summer, each one of you has made me feel so welcome leaving comments each week and telling me your thoughts on each topic. I truly appreciate this, and I am so looking forward to continuing to share my thoughts each week.

I thought I could share some memories from the year my family and I visited Walt Disney World during the week between Christmas and New Year’s. I thought I had seen some pretty long lines in the summer, but those lines were just downright impressive! The one attraction queue I remember clearly was waiting over two hours to ride Peter Pan’s Flight! The one memory that my mind immediately goes to when thinking of this particular Christmas vacation involves the day we were flying home to New York. As we were getting ready to head to the airport from Port Orleans French Quarter, we decided to take one last family photo in front of the dragon slide. We lined up with my dad on the end, smiled, and proceeded to watch my dad get soaked as water splashed over the side from someone going down the slide at that exact same moment. While it was inconvenient at the time, in its own way, it’s become a Disney Christmas memory for me. So beware taking pictures near the slide while fully dressed, especially if you are about to board a plane!

With that random memory being shared, I wish everyone and their families and very safe and happy holidays and I can’t wait to share more with you in the New Year!

Any special Disney Christmas traditions or memories in your family? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear from you!
