New Fantasyland, Test Track and Splitsville Review, Disney Trivia Contest and more!

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #304 for the week of December 9, 2012.

I’m here to help you have the best possible Disney vacation experience, and bring you some Disney magic to to wherever you are with this podcast, videos, blog, live broadcasts, events, trivia books, CDs and more. You can find it all at

This week marked the grand opening of many new, eagerly-anticipated experiences at Walt Disney World, including New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom, a refreshed Test Track in Epcot, The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Splitsville in Downtown Disney. Guests were welcomed in true Disney style, with a flying dragon over Fantasyland and a three-day event showcasing not just what’s new, but what’s coming next, including Disney’s Limited Time Magic in 2013 and James Cameron’s Avatarland. We’ll take a close look at each of these new elements and not just offer our reviews, but what these expansions and experiences represent in terms of steps forward in guest experiences, technological advances, levels of interactivity and fun, and what it means to us as Walt Disney World enthusiasts now and in the future.

I’ll have the answer to our last Walt Disney World Trivia Question of the Week, and pose a new challenge for your chance to win a Disney prize package.

I’ll then have some announcements at the end of the show, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

  1. Wendy says:

Thank you for the new Fantasyland review.
We only saw some building tops in 2012!

  2. Alex Stewart says:

Something about tge Snow White Mine Train: the coaster cars are gonna look like minecarts. 😀

  3. Chuck Zitta says:

Well, I was most excited to experience the Mine Train, and when we went in fall of 2014, it didn’t disappoint! I think my favorite part of the attraction (without spoiling it for others) would be inside the mine with the dwarfs. Dug the little tidbit at the end as well!

Will be nice to see that area of the park in about 10-15 years after all the trees and plants have had time to grow/mature.

The new Test Track rocks as well! Really enjoyed the pre-ride activities. We did go in and look around Splitsville, but did not bowl. Cool place. Definitely need to go hang out there one evening on our next trip down.

Thanks again for another spectacular show, Lou and Glenn!
