Cape Girardeau is a town on the mississippi river in southeast missouri that mark twain spoke highly of. Hence the reason for the crate at tom sawyer island.

Tony Baxter is more than the rides. He had some similar traditions connections as did Roy Disney. Preserving Disney traditions and not just the “what would Walt do” idea, but paying more than lip service to Walt’s legacy. The quality, story, attention to detail and more. He will be missed, especially that Roy and Marty have left or are gone too. Pretty soon it will only be the bean counters. Nobody left who grew up with the traditions.

There’s a Cape Girardeau crate in the Tom Sawyer Island dock area on the Big Thunder side. Is there a significance to this name or a tie-in to Adventureland and Frontierland?
