Live Review of Via Napoli in Epcot, Disney Trivia Contest and more! – Apr. 14, 2013

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #320 for the week of April 14, 2013.

As a Florida resident who was born and raised in New Jersey, I’m constantly on a quest for a little taste of home, including good, authentic pizza, and this week, my search has brought me to what many argue isn’t just the best pizza in Florida, but anywhere – Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. This week, we’ll do a live review of Via Napoli and sample not just their authentic neapolitan pizza, but take a culinary tour of Southern Italy – all while never leaving Walt Disney World.

I’ll have the answer to our last Walt Disney World Trivia Question of the Week, and pose a new challenge for your chance to win a Disney prize package.

Stay tuned for additional information and announcements at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

– Lou Mongello

Thank goodness! I was waiting for not only this weeks podcast to be posted, but a review for this restaurant as well. I’ve heard great things, but i trust Lou’s opinion on food and dinning the most.

  2. Chris says:

I was having WDW Radio withdrawals, but this was a great epsiode. Can’t wait to eat there in May.

  3. Jackie V says:

We ate at Via Napoli on out last trip! I always recommend it to anyone I know that is going to Disney. Great show as always!!

  4. Nicole says:

I was so excited to hear this review of Via Napoli! My husband and I will be eating there for the first time during our May trip (only 3 weeks away, woohoo!). Now, I know we have to try the aqua frescas & arancini, and of course the pizza! and the Candele, and the gelato…

  5. Florence Porter says:

We tried Via Napoli for the first time last month. We bought an extra large and had it for breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed it so much, we went back for a second time the day before we left for home. This podcast reminded me how awesome it was, so I just made an ADR for the end of April when I will be back for a few days.
I highly recommend it to anyone, especially Italians. It did remind me of my Nona’s on Sundays when I was growing up!

  6. Bruce says:

Just one comment. Being a life long resident of Coney Island who can go to Nathans on Surf Ave like most go to McDonalds,I can tell you with 100% assurance, that Nathans Hot Dogs are not… repeat not dirty water dogs, they are grilled ๐Ÿ™‚ To say Nathans boils their hot dogs is like saying Via Napoli uses ketchup instead of red gravy ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Wendy says:

We ate in Via Napoli twice on our last visit. Great pizza for a wonderful bargain for a TS in WDW. The desserts are also very tasty.

If you do not have an ADR, just walk up to the podium and ask. I bet you will be able to find a table, The restaurant is so large.

Also take a walk and look at the wood fired ovens to bake the pizza. They have “faces” and names. The chefs will pose for a picture with them.

Glen pulls a smooth move on the Lou Mongello fork heist! LOL!!!

Thus far, we have only experienced Tony’s in WDW and Tutto Italia Ristorante (several times) and Mama Melrose. So, at this point, I have to go with a toss up between Tutto and Mama’s as my favorite Italian restaurant in WDW. But, based on some of your comments today, we definitely have to give Via Napoli a try. Sounds amazing! Would also like to get over and try Il Mulino’s as well.

What a terrific show. I’m so hungry now!

Thanks again for another fantastic show, Lou, Glen and special guests!!!
