As I mentioned in my last post, most of our recent trip to Walt Disney World was focused on merchandise and me getting to as many stores as possible. I wanted to highlight several more products that I (and someone named Christy) found to be things we never noticed before.
Silver Mickey Frame:
I was an idiot not to buy this frame and I know it! It is too cute and very girly looking. I found this frame first at World of Disney, but then it kept popping up at different stores around property. What really makes it pop out at you is the sparkling Mickey head on the bow! It might end up coming home with me in November…..
Age Group: Adults
Must Have: Yes
This is one product that I had never seen (or failed to notice) before. However, it could make a really unique gift or souvenir. They sell tons of these different leather keychains or tags that you can have personalized to say whatever you would like. I found this station at the gift store at Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, but I think there might have been other places that offered them as well. You pay $9.95 for the tag itself and then you get free engraving!! (yes, something free from Disney). There is one other add-on you an choose and those are little rivets that you could have added to the leather bracelets.
I think these products could be a lot of fun and you could find many different uses for them! The Mickey head tags were my favorite ones.
Price: $9.95 (plus rivets if you can add them)
Age Group: Anyone
Must Have: Maybe
I know, I know, you are going to say that Disney has too many iPhone cases and not enough cases for other brands of phones and you are right. They do have a TON of iPhone cases now. The ones I found to be interesting are the ones on the top row. They feature the “updated” princesses and, surprisingly, do not feature Cinderella. What they offer in her place is the pink case that features shoes and says: “One shoe can change your life.” I thought the shoe one was adorable and almost got it, but then I determined that it was not “Disney” enough for me. I opted for a pink one that has Minnie on it instead. I am still not sure what I think of the updated princess look. To be honest, on the phone Ariel looks like she hasn’t eaten in months. But, if you want the glamour princesses, then these cases are for you.
Price: $30.00 and up
Age Group: Anyone with an iPhone (or a limited choice of other models)
Must Have: Yes
I still have one or two more updates of things I found while at the parks, but don’t worry, I am keeping my eyes out for more products in local stores. I am also going to be heading to Disneyland around the Expo time, so if anyone wants to see a specific item from out there, please let me know and I will start a list.
Until next time…..keep shopping Disney-style!
shopDisney is a bi-weekly blog that will focus on Disney merchandise and products sold in the parks, in Disney stores, and in other retail markets. We will explore product reviews, affordability, and to whom the products are marketed. Like any other good product review, we will conclude with a rating scale for several different key components: price, age group, and whether the product is a “must have.”
