TIPS LOGODays at Disney can be so busy (in a good way) that you forget and lose track of time to check off everything you had on your agenda.

On occasion, I have not allowed myself enough time to check out the shops in the parks to pick out some souvenirs.

The great thing about the stores on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom is that they tend to say open up to an hour after the park closes for the night.

For those of you who cannot get enough of Disney, you know that an extra hour in the parks is a major bonus to your day, even if the rides are closed.

While many of us are on a budget when we visit, sometimes it is hard to be able go home with a souvenir we really want.

No fear though because WDW Radio host Lou Mongello has found the top 5 souvenirs for under $5 on Main Street in his new video series, “Disney in a Minute”.

Take advantage of the extended hour the park provides for shopping so you can leave Disney with a memory that will last a lifetime.

How many of you have stayed in the Magic Kingdom to shop after the park has closed for the night? What is your favorite souvenir you have bought on Main Street?

I make it a point to mill about in the shops after closing time. There’s just so much to look at whether you are buying souvenirs or not. Another thing worth noting is the atmosphere in the shops at the end of the day, everyone is bustling around trying to purchase last minute things after a long day in the Magic Kingdom. It’s always interesting to me to do some people watching at this time of night. You see the parents hurrying the children along, those children crying from sheer exhaustion, other children repeating to their parents “can I have this?”, cast members trying to ring registers as fast as they can. It reminds me of the one scene from the grinch that stole Christmas where everyone rushes the stores. Sorry for the babble, this is something I look forward to at WDW lol.

    Have an awesome day!!

My favorite Main Street souvenir would have to me my Mickey Mouse baseball cap (complete with ears). I got it when I was 7, and it’s hanging on the wall above my desk right now.

I’ve stayed late in MK, but it’s always been for Extra Magic Hours. I’ll have to try exploring the shops after closing soon!

My favorite souvenir is a sorcerer’s hat with Mickey Mouse ears on it. It’s my lucky hat and is the greatest ice breaker ever. I get tons of comments from other guests, Cast Members, and even the characters love it. 🙂
