This series asks you (if you dare!) to get inside my Disney-obsessed mind and figure out what Disney reference I am thinking of when I go about my everyday life here in suburban New Jersey.

Last week, I featured an image from a recent trip to Virginia, which included busts of two individuals outside a restaurant.  The Disney reference that popped into my mind was of the busts at the Academy of Television Arts and Science in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  For those of you who said the Haunted Mansion ghosts–that was what my husband thought of….. alas, he is not the blogger!  From the correct entries I selected one at random to receive a mystery ticket; congratulations to Danna L., who will receive a WDW Radio Mystery ticket.

This week’s picture also comes from our recent trip to Virginia, and was found inside a children’s museum.  What could be the Disney thought I had?  Can you read my mind?

There could be several Disney-related things that could have popped into my mind, but I will award randomly a mystery ticket each week to someone who correctly guesses what was the first Disney reference that popped into my mind when I saw the image.

In the comments, please share what you think I was thinking,… and share what Disney reference comes into your mind when you see it!

So an obvious reference is the checkers on Main Street USA … But what really came to mind first for me is the Pirates playing checkers in the queue of the POTC attraction :). Love peering in on them every time!

While at the Magic Kingdom last month, my daughter and I spent some time playing checkers on Tom Sawyer Island. This rustic checkers set reminds me of that day. I’ll guess that is what it reminds you of as well. 🙂

The Pirate skeletons locked in an eternal game of chess neither can win in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Not sure if we are allowed more than one guess. My second guess is the barrel with the checker set in front of the shootin’ gallery in adventureland in the MK.

Makes me think of the checker games set up near the Shootin’ Gallery in Frontierland. Then again, there are the checkers playing skeletons in the PoC queue. AND an old postcard of the trading post at Fort Wilderness in which they had checker games set up for guests to play….

  37. Playing checkers in Frontierland near the shooting gallery.

In another Virginia note — is this from Amazement Square in Lynchburg or from the kids museum in Richmond?

  38. Oh and a little clarification about Pirates — the pirates in the queue are playing chess, not checkers.
