Let’s take a moment, before we witness the sad end of the amazing Disney Cruise Line Balloon Sculpture, to see its majesty at the D23 Expo one last time….
What a work of art!
My favorite part: the hidden Mickey underneath the sculpture.
The sculpture came down before the show ended and sat on the floor for a bit.
Lots of exhibitors took pictures in front of the sculpture while pack up took place. Here’s the amazing WDW Radio team.
Balloon sculptor John Reid’s assistant did the honors of popping the first balloon, and documented it on his phone.
So sad.
Many people were involved (nearly every day people asked if they could help us pop it when it was time!) and the entire deflation process took only a few minutes.
It’s so colorful… and so wrong!
And there are the remains… all in two small piles. Hard to believe.
Nobody had the heart to pop the anchor. We left it at the booth as we headed out for the last time.
