by Felicia & Sean

Let’s say you’re in “The Most Magical Place on Earth” right now, with your special someone (if you are WOOHOO! Sooooo wish we were there!), maybe for your engagement, honeymoon, wedding anniversary, or just a good ‘ol vacation alone. Want to score some brownie points?

Recruit the team at Disney’s Floral and Gifts.

How about surprising your sweetheart with a room full of flowers and candles? Go for it! How about proposing with a ring inside a real glass slipper, or maybe relaxing at the spa or with a nice bottle of wine, and cheese (Mickey’s favorite!). Walt Disney World’s team goes the extra mile (we’d say 10 miles) to make sure that your sweetheart – adult or child – gets treated like royalty. No matter where you are – on land or on sea – they’ll make it happen.

This is what happened to us…

By the time we got to Disney World for our honeymoon after planning and celebrating our wedding, we were so exhausted to even think straight. In fact, there were times leading up to our wedding that we even forgot we were going on a honeymoon! (That, by the way, is when you know you’re on overdrive: when a Disney vacation falls off your radar.) Our goal once we got to our hotel was not running to the parks, but sleeping and really, our first days there were spent just decompressing from all the craziness that was our lives for the last two years. (And, yes, it really does take up to two years in New York to plan a wedding … trust us! Then throw buying a house on top of that – double whammy!)

Neither one of us thought about using Disney Floral and Gifts to make our honeymoon extra-special; we didn’t want to plan one more thing. It turns out, we didn’t have to. Our travel planner at Mouse Fan Travel did. (Thank you, Coleen)! Our first days in the park, we were totally oblivious to anyone or anything. We were days-old newlyweds, living on Cloud 9, and eating up a storm at the Wine and Food Festival. That was a gift unto itself.Roses

It wasn’t until we boarded the Disney Dream for our cruise that we started noticing little presents from Mickey Mouse!

One night, we came back to our room from dinner and found this on our bed!  A heart made out of rose petals, towel swans, and chocolate! How sweet! We couldn’t believe it! Someone actually did this … for us?! We’re not the first, nor the last people to celebrate their honeymoon on a Disney Cruise Line cruise, but let us tell you: This made us feel like we were the king and the queen.

After our cruise, we stayed in the parks one more week. We almost missed this last present, but we are so happy we didn’t! On our room phone, there was a message. We thought it was maybe left over from the previous guests; it couldn’t be for us, right? Or could it? We listened to it and couldn’t believe our ears (pun intended)… Mickey Mouse voicemail

Talk about memorable. It’s these little touches that make Disney so much more than a theme park. They make it feel like home by going that extra mile to make you feel special. So we’d like to know, have you ever used Disney Floral and Gifts?

“New Yorkas” Felicia and Sean are avid Disney fans.  Their first vacation as a couple was in Walt Disney World.  They were engaged there, and also honeymooned there.  After a combined 30 trips to the World, they are self-professed Disney travel agents and enjoy helping family and friends plan magical Disney vacations.

Wow it really does sound like a fairy tale 🙂

  2. Disney Floral and Gifts is absolutely wonderful! We stayed at the Grand Floridian for our honeymoon, and on the first day of our stay, we returned to our room after a long day in the park to champagne and chocolates from our parents. I still have the Mickey Mouse champagne flutes that came with it. We sat on our balcony and watched Wishes that night with our champagne. It was the cherry on top of a wonderful sundae for sure!

My husband and I honeymooned in Disney in 1978. On our 20th anniversary our children were old enough for us to take a week by ourselves to celebrate at Disney again. Our sweet kids had a beautiful flower arrangement along with a bottle of champagne and champagne glasses engraved with the Disney World logo on them waiting for us in our room. There was even a hidden Mickey shaped crystal hidden among the flowers. We use the glasses every anniversary and I still have the crystal. 🙂

Then, in 2009, my mother passed away. I needed to get away by myself for a while so I made reservations for myself at a Disney resort. Again our children had a beautiful flower arrangement sent to my room. It was very touching and it meant so much to me.
