Why I Think It Would Be Great To Be A Disney Cartoon Character

I babysit a little 5 year old boy named Adam. One day, I introduced him to The House of Mouse, my favorite show when I was his age (I am just the COOLEST babysitter, photo 3aren’t I?) As I was showing him one episode, I distinctly remember an instance when Goofy took off his ears and hat and traded them for Donald’s. When Donald discovered this, he got angry and switched them back. Goofy then does this to Mickey. Mickey switches them back. This goes back and forth for about 30 seconds or so, each time Goofy would take something else, like Minnie’s bow or an astronaut helmet. Adam would laugh and then ask me to rewind and play it again. Probably the 15th time I rewound to the beginning of that specific segment, he turned and said to me, “I want to do that! Why can’t I do that?” That got me thinking. Cartoon characters have MUCH cooler lives than we do. Here are twenty five reasons why I believe this fact is true.

As many of you guys probably know, there is a popular app right now that is taking over social media. You create an avatar linked to your Facebook page and insert yourself and your friends into comics with funny captions at the bottom. I figured: Hey, this internet craze would make a great companion to this blog! So all the photos included in this blog are made from Bitstrips, and I included some of my WDW Radio family in the comics too. Enjoy!

25.          Out of frame, out of mind.

Do you see it? No? Then it doesn’t exist.

24.          You can have any job you want without having to go through all the training.

Do you want to become a doctor? Go right ahead. Want to become a lawyer? Sure, why not. Want to become a princess? So do I.photo 1

23.          You always look good in photos.

You become photogenic at all times because your every move is being tracked by a camera!

22.          You can go places that no one else can go.

Space? Check! Atlantic? Been there, done that…

21.          There is always a happy ending and dreams come true.

Do you want ten thousand dole whips? BOOM! There you go. Wait, maybe that’s not the type of happy ending I meant…

20.          You can carry a “Mary Poppins” bag with you wherever you go so anything can appear.

A ladder? A cat? A ladder made out of cats? Don’t worry. You can make it appear.

19.          There is always someone to laugh at your jokes.

There is always someone watching with a sense of humor who matches your target audience. You never have to worry about that awkward silence that may follow after you tell photo 4an absolutely HILARIOUS joke.

18.          Eyes in the back of your head.

You can see everything going on around you. Who knows? Maybe you LITERALLY have eyes on the back of your head.

17.          “Gaston”-like muscles appear when you need them with no gym visits.

Who wouldn’t love to be super strong? Now you can be without working for it! YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!

16.          You’re either friends or enemies – there is no in between.

You know everyone in your little world: and you love them or hate them.

15.          You can dry off just by shaking.

If you are like me, after you wash your hair, it takes DAYS to fully dry. I wouldn’t need to worry about that anymore.

14.          You can run super-fast.

Speed.  I. Am. Speed. (Name that movie…)

13.          If you don’t want to hear something, you can just take off your ears.

Lalala! I can’t hear you. Lalala! I’m not listening.

12.          You can have many different looks and many different voices.

Unlike a human, as a cartoon character you aren’t stuck with what you first look like. You go through many different shapes, sizes and colors before a final product.

11.          You may get a theme park ride based on your adventures.

I mean come on… who doesn’t want a theme park ride based off themselves?!?

10.          You may have a theme song.

Everyone would get this song stuck in their heads and they would think of you.

9.            Money is no object.

Don’t have money? Hakuna Matata, money doesn’t matter!

8.            An eraser can change the story’s outcome.

A simple erased line can change everything. The bars of a jail cell? Imagine if they were erased…

7.            When bad things happen, there is a lesson to be learned.

There is a moral to every story and a life lesson that’s just waiting to be learned. Wouldn’t it be great if all our life lessons were so easy?

6.            A montage of events is almost like time travel.

Three years can go by in one minute by just going through the highlights of those three years. Imagine how much faster those months before Disney vacations would go by!

5.            The sound effects are awesome.

Have ever been in a sad situation where the “wah-wah-waaaaaaah” sound effect would be appropriate? Well now that sound effect will play!

4.            You can talk to animals and they can understand you and talk back.

We can FINALLY figure out what the fox says! I’m pretty sure it’s not ring-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding…

3.            Pain doesn’t last more than a second.

Get hit by a falling piano? No worries, you will be okay in a few moments.

2.            You never die unless you’re the villain.

You live forever and ever. Did I mention forever?

And the Number One reason it must be great to be a Disney Cartoon Character is:

1.           You never have to grow up.

You stay the same age forever. You gain the wisdom of growing older, but you physically stay the same. How great is that?

Let’s be honest, compared to cartoon characters, our lives are BORING. We can’t do nearly as many awesome things as cartoon characters can. That being said, I DID have a photo 2lot of fun creating this list and the comics that come with it. Maybe one day we will all become cartoons. As Walt Disney said himself “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”

See ya REAL soon!
