Caitlin CorselloIf I’m being completely honest, a huge chunk of the anticipation building up to and the enjoyment of my Disney vacations revolve around food- meals, drinks, desserts, and the all important snack. I am a huge fan of having one regular sit down meal a day and sampling snacks throughout the rest of the day to hold me over until a real meal. With all of the walking that guests do while in the parks, snacks are a great option to keep energy up and stomachs happy. So let’s take a look at some of the best snacks in Walt Disney World and please feel free to leave comments below telling me which are your favorites!

Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar – Located pretty much everywhere on property, this is the classic ice cream that most people call to mind when thinking of Disney. Shaped like Mickey’s head and featuring vanilla ice cream coated in delicious chocolate, this snack is one of my personal favorites and a great way to beat the heat on those humid central Florida days.

Beignets – You can find these ridiculously addictive snacks at the Sassagoula food court at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. They are a deep fried puff pastry smothered in powdered sugar, and let me tell you that once you have one you will never stop. In my opinion, these are best enjoyed as a late night snack at the end of a long day in the parks.

School Bread – You can find this snack at the Kringla Bakeri in the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. It features a sweet roll filled with vanilla pudding and coated with toasted coconut shreds. It is a traditional Norwegian snack which will have you going back for seconds.

Caitlin CorselloButterfinger Cupcake – While WDW has some pretty amazing cupcake options throughout property, this one reigns supreme. You can find it at Starring Rolls Café in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (keep in mind the café usually closes in the afternoon) and it features a chocolate cupcake with a chocolate filling, vanilla butter cream frosting, a chocolate shell, and Butterfinger crumbles. It is definitely enough cupcake for two people to split, and for bonus points you can also enjoy it early in the morning for a true breakfast of champions.

Popcorn – You can find popcorn stands throughout all four of the parks, and once you breathe in that perfectly salty buttery smell you will definitely be enticed to enjoy some fresh popped cornels. I recommend investing in the collectible bucket as it is usually a good size larger than the alternative and about a dollar or two extra. While this snack is delicious everywhere, it somehow always tastes best while walking down Main Street.

Zebra Domes – These amazing snacks are offered as part of dessert at Boma Restaurant in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, or served to go at the Resort’s quick service location The Mara. Zebra Domes are bite sized morsels consisting of white cake, Amarula Liqueur, white chocolate ganache, and a dark chocolate drizzle. They leave you with a nutty, caramel aftertaste and are definitely a great alternative to the usual standard snack offerings in WDW.

Mickey Shaped Pretzels – Following the philosophy that anything tastes better when shaped like Mickey (hello, Mickey waffles!), these pretzels are every bit as doughy, buttery, and salty as they should be and thus are delicious.

Fruit From Anaheim Produce – Offering up a healthy snack option of fresh fruits and frozen lemonade this counter service location on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios is a must for those looking to keep their vacation on the lighter, healthier side.

So there you have some of the best snacks in WDW! While there are so many to choose from, there is definitely an option for everyone no matter what their eating preferences. A great way to really indulge in snacking in WDW is to visit during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and take time to wander around World Showcase enjoying food options from dozens of booths around the world. I also need to mention the noticeable omission of turkey legs from this list. I have to admit…I simply hate them. The smell makes me nauseous and I don’t think I could stomach that heavy of a snack in the Florida heat, but I can understand why so many people do actually enjoy them! If you are a person who loves their turkey legs, definitely leave me a comment below and let me know what you love about them! Be sure to also leave a comment below telling me what your favorite snacks in WDW are and together we can compile a long list of the best to sample on our next vacations!

What is your favorite snack in WDW? Let me know by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear from you!

Oh man I love love those turkey legs!! I like them because they taste amazing and it’s like a meal on a stick lol.

I am also a huge fan of the butterfinger cupcake and I never ever share! I usually regret not sharing though because that thing is a real belly bomb but oh so delicious!

For my favorite snack, that would have to be the carrot cake cookie from The Writer’s Stop in Hollywood Studios. I always take at least a half hour out of my trip to just sit down and relax at The Writer’s Stop with a yummy carrot cake cookie and cappuccino.

    Have an awesome day!

Oh I COMPLETELY agree with the Zebra Domes! Probably my favorite WDW Favorite by far. In fact, every trip I go to Animal Kingdom Lodge SPECIFICALLY to buy some of them from the Mara. I don’t need to be there for anything else, but I always need Zebra domes!

Wow, these snacks sound amazing…I have to try School Bread. One of my favorites are the churros, and especially the cinnamon buns. If I want to really indulge, my husband and I will share a waffle bowl ice cream. Also, love the Mickey shaped pretzels. Last time we were there, we were wearing our ‘Just Married’ pins, and the lady at the kiosk gave it to us for free…’complimnets of Mickey’, she said! 🙂
