Adventure Into The World of Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Fantasy: Disney Tip #29

Holiday LogoOne of the great things about Walt Disney World is that you can have a full holiday experience even outside the parks.

A great way to escape the hustle and bustle for a few hours is to head on over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Here you will find what I like to call a miniature city of RV’s and campgrounds filled with thousands of lights and holiday inflatable Disney characters. Some people even build miniature villages and towns as they all decorate for the holidays. Taking a stroll through the resort and campground is free of charge as well!

Another perk to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is the “sleigh” ride you and your party can take. Departing from Crockett’s Tavern (where you can get pizza, wings, and beverages), you and up to three adults or two adults and three children will head off into the wooded area filled with lights and garlands.

The sleigh ride is 25 minutes long and costs $64. This is only available throughout the month of December, so make sure to call ahead of time as reservations are highly recommended!

How many of you have taken a sleigh ride through Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground? Would you do it again if you had the opportunity?

Peyton is currently a student at the University of Mississippi majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in print. Growing up in Los Angeles and most recently moving to Atlanta, he has seen and experienced the best of both Disneyland and Disney World. Making his first visit to Disney World at the age of 5, he has never looked back as he entered the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.
