Practically Perfect Disney Crafting: Developing Your Holiday Décor, Inspired By Disney Parks

Hi Everyone! Fall is now a memory and we replaced our Pumpkin Spice with Gingerbread Spice. This is the time when I break out ALL of my decorations to deck my halls with huge splashes of Disney.

I am just like you, glued in front of my TV every time there is a Disney behind-the-scenes something or other, let alone all the specials they show during this season. But one of my all-time favorites is HGTV’s Behind the Magic: Disney Holidays hosted by David Bromstad (2009). It’s a go-to for Disney Parks inspiration. Shows like that not only gives me my seasonal dose of Disney, I watch them for at-home crafting inspiration, especially when they feature departments like Walt Disney World’s Holiday Services. There is something really awe-inspiring about how Disney Holiday Services makes their type of magic happen!

Another seasonal dose of Disney comes from the photos I have taken of Walt Disney World’s holiday decor. I keep them in a separate file to use as inspiration later on. I have also been known to take photos of festive displays at my local Disney Store, too.

Here are some of my latest Walt Disney World holiday photos:

The cool thing about crafting is that you do not have to reinvent the wheel. Placement of decor is as much crafting as creating items from scratch. Having a flair for it can come naturally or you can develop it over time by taking photos and/or watching themed shows like HGTV’s Behind the Magic: Disney Holidays. And you can re-work and re-arrange what you accumulate year after year.

I have such a growing number of decorations and ornaments, I need to remind myself of clustering one Disney theme nowadays instead of mixing it up like I used to. Lately, I keep going back to old school greenery with subtle ornaments tucked inside of them. My photos above sort of reflect that idea.

I’m having a blast decorating! How about you?

Have you been inspired by the Disney Parks? I am eager to hear how you plan to arrange your Disney decor this holiday season!

Enjoy arranging and decorate away!
