BoxPeople_FinalFor the last two years, we have hosted a celebration of the 5th and 6th anniversary of WDW Radio with special online shows.  Set in different parks, the shows have featured Lou, Beci, Scott, Glenn, and Tony completing a variety of tasks that the listeners of WDW Radio suggested and voted upon.  The shows have been great fun and a wonderful way to commemorate the strength of the WDW Radio family.

This year, we are going to celebrate again!  On Saturday February 1, 2014, the gang will reunite–this time in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!  How will they spend their time during the live show that day?  The choice, my friends, is YOURS!

We are asking YOU to submit ideas for this anniversary celebration.  Should they greet 7 “Streetmosphere” characters?  Eat seven carrot cake cookies?  How about share 7 Soarin’ Fast Passes with an unsuspecting guest??  YOU DECIDE!  We need YOU to brainstorm fun (and unique!) ways for them to spend their time in EPCOT!!  Suggestions can be submitted to anniversary@wdwradio.com by January 15, 2014.  Submitted ideas will be evaluated for their feasibility and then put to a vote–BY YOU!  (Need some inspiration??  Check out this recap video from last year’s event!)

Then, on February 1, we will watch “in The Box” as they race through Hollywood Studios, trying to fulfill OUR goals for them, starting with the feat that had the most votes and moving right down the list!  How many of OUR feats will they accomplish?

There will be, of course…. a catch! At some point during the show, they will face a “Road Block.” The most intriguing idea submitted by The Box (as deemed by a panel of judges) will be presented to the gang — and they MUST accomplish this road block before moving on.

If it is anything like the last two years, the day will be filled with fun and laughs, and undoubtedly a surprise or two along the way!  We hope you can join us… and PLEASE send in suggested activities for the gang to complete while they are in the Studios.

Nothing in the world is more powerful than the strength and togetherness of a family.  We hope this special day will give us all the chance to spend with one another, virtually or in person, and celebrate the special bond we share.  If you have any questions or ideas for this special day, please send me a note at Christy@WDWRadio.com

well thanks to My Magic Plus, giving out fastpasses to Toy Story isn’t an option 🙁 How about Lou riding Star Tours in his Ewok outfit (minus the head)

  2. It would be fun to see someone get chosen as an extra in either the Studio Backlot Tour or the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

  3. Lisa says:

Oh! I vote for the Ewok costume, but riding Toy Story Midway Mania!!!

  4. Linda Raymond says:

Soaring?… Tower of Terror,,,,seven times in a row,,,that’s a lot of dropping lol..

  5. Stan Solo says:

Tony and Caitlin took both of my ideas. 🙂

This isn’t necessarily crazy, goofball silly or anything; but, I think it could be great fun. It will require some effort and a little $$$. I’d like to see the WDWRadio group dress in early mid-century (1930s, 1940s) vintage attire and “in-character” (true, old-school radio form) fun-blitz seven unsuspecting parties, tell them what your celebrating, and maybe treat them to some cones (or, whatever) at Hollywood Scoops Ice Cream. A great time to do this would be while people are waiting to go into Fantasmic or coming out of the Great Movie Ride or The Hollywood Tower Terror (Hotel).

Not that it is the goal/purpose; but, this could be great advertising for the show/blog, too.

  7. Kendall Foreman (MoretotheWorld) says:

I completely agree with Anne. Something Streetmosphere would be awesome. Especially, the Old Hollywood Radio…if you could find an old school microphone that would be really cool!

Also, I think it would be fun for those of us watching if they had to find and identify seven unmarked movie props throughout the park. All of us know where the props in the Great Movie Ride come from because of the placards, but there are so many props that aren’t marked explicitly.

  8. Kristin says:

Ask seven little girls wearing princess costumes for their autographs 🙂

  9. Fran Cassano says:

All these ideas are SO fun!

Would having the team try out for the American Idol Experience take too long in the day?

I submitted a few ideas, but one was tweet a “wish you were here” photo in front of the Hat to Matt Hochberg, host of WDWToday podcast and webmaster of Studioscentral.com. DHS is his favorite park, but he lives in NYC now. Back when Lou started, he used to appear on their podcast sometimes and they teased him about his extra-long podcasts. They used to use “Mongello!” as a greeting, too, lol.
