Show # 346 – The Guy’s Guide to Walt Disney World – January 12, 2014

Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show – Your Walt Disney World Information Station. I am your host, Lou Mongello, and this is show #346 for the week of January 12, 2014.

We all know someone who just doesn’t “get it” or shares our mutual love for Walt Disney World. They wonder why we keep going back, talking about it, collecting it, and maybe even dreaming about it at work. And sometimes, it may be your husband, dad, brother, coworker or friend who thinks there’s nothing for “real men” to do in a park that’s all about fairly tales and magic. To that, I smile and say that this week, we’re going to give you the Guy’s Guide to Walt Disney World as we discuss things to do, see and enjoy while visiting the parks, resorts and restaurants. Whether you’re taking a reluctant traveler or planning your next Mancation to the parks, there’s something here for everyone.

I’ll have the answer to our last Walt Disney World Trivia Question of the Week, and pose a new audio challenge for your chance to win a Disney prize package.

Stay tuned as I’ll have some updates and announcements including information about our 7th Anniversary Weekend event, and play more of your voicemails at the end of the show. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in next week!

– Lou Mongello

  1. Luke Hempenstall (Disney Down Under) says:

I actually sat on the bus on my way to work this morning and bought the book Ears of Steel on the Amazon App while listening to this episode. Instant gratification! Can’t wait until it’s delivered… which being Australia, may be some time…. ;o)

Great work Bart, you’re a man after my own heart. You think trying to convince men over there to go to WDW is hard; try Aussie men! I will use your book as a Guide and if all else fails, beat them over the head with it until they believe! :o)

  2. Becky Manion says:

I have used social media to contact Bart after buying and reading the book for myself.
(Im a girl), and I just wanted to read it for entertainment value.

It didnt let me down, I loved it.

    Great podcast and interview guys!

  3. OlUncleOrville says:

Tell him to have a couple Beers at Epcot. Before long he’ll feel right at home.

  4. Rob says:

Am I the only one who hears a minute of silence from 2:53 to 3:53? The file seems fine otherwise, but maybe that minute could be trimmed?

  5. Anthony says:

Does anyone know where I can get that shirt?

  6. Peyton says:

My favorite podcast by far. Awesome stuff and great points!

  7. Chuck Zitta says:

I’m a huge golfer and part of a tight group of guys. The would be the “hook” I would use to get them down their. Then after a morning of golf, I’d take them on a “guys tour” of the parks/property, doing such things as:

    1. Lunch at the ESPN zone on the Boardwalk.

    2. Head to Epcot for Drinking (responsible) around the world, more food, test track, mission space?

    3. Then head over to Shula’s or Bluezoo for dinner.

    4. Crash at the Beach Club and start all over the next day.

That would just be the first day.

Other places to take them, do a lounge hop day at some of the resorts, like the Poly, Wilderness lodge and Beach Club. Disney Springs for an evening of fun. Crockett’s Tavern would be a big hit. Agree. I could easily take them around the property without even going in the parks and show them a real good time! There would be no complaints.

To say the least, they would not go home disappointed. I WOULD show them the WORLD in a way they never imagined.

Thanks again for another great show, Lou and special guest Bart Scott!!!

  8. Joel Arthurs says:

Food, food, and more food! Trying new places to eat and hitting the headliner attractions.
