Taste of DisneyEveryone has something different that gives them that sense of being in WDW even when hundreds of miles away from the real thing. Smells and tastes tend to resonate most with me.

On days I am missing Disney, my favorite thing to do is to make a Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake for myself. I am instantly transported to the 50s Prime Time Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and I am one happy camper. In fact, I think I am in need of one today as I page through paragraphs and paragraphs of neuroscience and wish I was riding Rock ‘n Rollercoaster® Starring Aerosmith instead! Milkshakes are one of the most simple ways to give yourself ‘A Taste of Disney’ even just for a moment in time.

There are a number of delicious milkshakes worthy of making a list, but the PB&J Milkshake is the most unique because I honestly haven’t found anything like it anywhere off Disney property, and in my eyes, that makes it pretty special.

Another honorable mention milkshake is in Downtown Disney® at Ghirardelli’s®. Make sure to check out their Quake Shake. It is a chocolate bar infused milkshake (caramel, strawberry, and mint). Candy bar AND milkshake all in one?! Perfect.

This week I want to give you the recipe for the PB&J Milkshake, so you can make the blissful treat at home, too! PS. Yes, the recipe really is this simple! Recipe courtesy of allears.net.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons grape jelly
1/4 cup milk
3 cups vanilla ice cream, softened

1. Combine peanut butter and jelly in a small bowl, mixing well.

2. Combine milk, ice cream, and peanut butter mixture in container of an electric blender.

3. Process mixture until smooth, stopping once to scrape down sides.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Kristin has taken many a family vacations as a child driving 24 hrs, cramped in the back of the car and fighting with her sister to get to Disney (definitely worth it though). She looks forward to sharing “A taste of Disney” with everyone each week.
