A Taste of Disney: Easter

Taste of DisneyEaster is right around the corner (can you believe it?!) and many people will be celebrating with family this weekend. Will you be in WDW on Sunday? No fear, Disney, of course, has special events and dining going on throughout the day!

Below are just a few of these special food and treat centered happenings around property! Special thanks to http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/easter.htm for Disney holiday news.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort– Easter baskets and an Easter themed cupcake will be available.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort– Easter beanie plush, candy, pre-made Easter baskets and create-your-own Easter baskets.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground– The mercantile will offer pre-made and create-your-own Easter baskets. Also, a large chocolate Easter egg display will be in the main lobby, toward the resort entrance.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn– Create your own Easter basket

Kouzzina by Cat Cora® (Disney’s BoardWalk Inn restaurant)- will offer a traditional Easter menu along with a regular dinner menu.

BoardWalk Bakery– featured seasonal cupcake

The Wave…of American Flavors (Disney’s Contemporary Resort restaurant)- will feature a buffet/brunch from 7:30am – 3:00pm

Chef Mickey’s (Disney’s Contemporary Resort restaurant)- will be open for extended hours April 13-26. Brunch will be offered until 1:00pm on Easter Sunday.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort– Create-your-own Easter baskets will be available.

Roaring Forks (Disney’s Wilderness Lodge restaurant)- will host a recycled craft contest where guests will vote for the winner in the dining room. Also will feature a special cupcake.

Cape May Cafe (Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts restaurant)- will be open for extended hours 7:30am – 11:30am. In addition to the normal buffet menu, will feature a carving station of Candied Bacon. The dinner buffet will open 30 minutes early (4:30pm-9:00pm).

Disney’s Old Key West Resort– Pre-made and create-your-own Easter baskets and candy will be available.

Olivia’s Cafe (Disney’s Old Key West Resort restaurant)- will feature a special Easter dinner.

This week’s recipe is for the carrot cake cookies they sell at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Writers Stop. Perfect for the Easter season!

Carrot Cake Cookie

Ingredients

Standard Carrot Cake mix
8oz of cream cheese
8Tbs butter
1 c confectionary sugar
1/2 c of crushed pineapple, (well drained)
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Make standard Carrot Cake recipe.
Drop rounded off spoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
Bake according to Carrot Cake recipe instructions
Once the cookies are done, set them aside to cool.
Whip together remaining ingredients and place a tablespoon or more of icing onto cookie.
Sandwich two cookies together to complete.
