TOPIC: I have eaten at pretty much every dining location in Walt Disney World, but this week, I was able to enjoy something new, and what I think may be the best restaurant inside a Walt Disney World theme park. It’s probably one you haven’t tried (yet), or even knew existed.

I planned on going here this Sunday, now I really have to go. I hope it doesn’t get busy cause of this, haha.

    Thank you

  2. Hi Lou,
Just finished the Brown Derby Lounge show. Yes, Yes, Yes. My wife and I stopped there last month. We stopped there before dinner at Sci Fi and had the triple Martini. Fantastic!! Looking at the menu, we had wished that we did not have dinner reservations at Sci Fi. As DVC members, we get to travel to WDW three times a year (From New Hampshire)Restaurants are our favorite thing to do. We have Premium annual passes, Dining plan and Tables in Wonderland. The Brown Derby Lounge is our New Thing. We will be back on Oct. 26 and guess where we will be headed. I can not handle more than one triple martini but this time it will be combined with some great food. I was happy to hear that you enjoyed this spot as much as we did. Love your show. Keep up the great work.

Really enjoyed this episode. I had heard mediocre mentions of the Brown Derby via Yelp and other websites, but this episode made me change my mind. I think we will fit it into our visit come January. I think we will do the opposite than George (above), I think we will eat lunch here and go to the Sci Fi Dine In (my favorite memory in HS) for dessert. Thanks for all this great info!

Thanks for nothin’ Lou. D.W. and I hit the Brown Derby Lounge twice last winter, and it immediately became one of our favorites. Hope we don’t have to stand in a long line next time we visit. Also ate at Brown Derby twice and found out about a small, quiet, back room which was much more intimate than the main dining area. But don’t tell anyone else, O.K.?

so enjoyed this. maded my “ironing time” go by quickly. have eaten at BD , but always get the Cobb Salad. now I’m going to have to try the things you did. Did you say this would be on the Dining Plan ? Sit Down ?

  6. Peter A says:

Coming from the UK “sliders” is not a term that I am familiar with. Are the sliders the filled rolls in the pictures with the potato chips between them?

  7. Lindsey B says:

I’m so bummed! We were AT HS on June 8 and I can’t believe we missed both you guys AND the Lounge. We definitely would have made the stop just for the Cobb Salad (since I eat like a bird and rarely finish a plate). We love the Brown Derby – but I’m excited to learn about the Lounge! Next time!

Side note: since I DO rarely finish a plate, I used your tip on ordering kid’s meals during this last trip. Saved a ton and I was full! Thanks, Lou!

  8. Ashley says:

No, Lou! Nooooooooo!! This was our hidden gem in DHS! I’m glad you loved it as much as we do, but if we can’t get a table the next time we go, I’m comin’ for you! *shakes fist*

  9. Disnee Quilter says:

HBD is our favorite restaurant at DHS (and is on our itinerary for our 2015 WDW Gluttony Tour). Do they do the martini and margarita flights in restaurant as well or will I have to add the lounge to our touring plan? Awesome podcast, Lou! I love BigFatPanda!!

  10. Joseph says:

I have heard about the lounge and to be honest until I heard this episode it didn’t really grab my attention…. Mind you the duo of you and Panda could quite likely make the Hall of Presidents sound like I couldn’t live one more Disney World trip without trying it. Thank you for adding more to my ever growing list of food venues I need to experience. Thank God Disney calories don’t count and thank you for keeping me smiling when I can’t be there.

  11. Ashley says:

Just an update, FYI- we were at the lounge on Saturday, June 21, and they would not provide or let us order off of the main HBD menu. Our waitress said some had been allowing it, but they really weren’t supposed to, so she didn’t. Needless to say, we paid for our drinks and left. Such a bummer, we were really looking forward to the chicken sandwich. We’ll try again though; maybe a different server will have a different opinion.

  12. Carol Ann says:

We ate at HBD several years ago and had a horrible experience. Our waiter was terrible. After taking our initial order he went over and visited with what were apparently friends at another table. He never came back to check on us to see if we needed drinks refilled or wanted anything else. From where he was standing he could see us and we could see him, but it seemed he was pretending we were invisible. We actually had to ask another server if we could get some steak knives to cut our food. Since that experience, we have avoided the Brown Derby like the plague. Though I’m leary, we may need to give it a second chance.

  13. Eric says:

My wife, kids, and I ate yesterday at the HBD Lounge and truly enjoyed 2 margarita flights, 2 orders of the sliders, and a Cobb Salad. We were offered the main dining room menu as well. The food was very tasty–as your review led us to believe. We left satisfied. Thanks for the recommendation.

  14. Jason says:

On our drive from Cincinnati to WDW, we listened to 6 hours of your podcasts. We had to try the HBD Lounge. We truly loved it. We did the margarita flight (twice). I got a sidecar as well. Our server was great, and we can’t wait to go back and sit outside there again. Thanks for pointing us to this place!!

  15. Chuck Zitta says:

Wow! That sounded like an AMAZING lunch! C’mon John, no sausage or duck? You gotta try it. Open up your mind, as Lou said, and enjoy the experience. LOL!!! Man, that chicken sandwich sounds incredible. Dug the pictures as well, thanks! I don’t know why you wouldn’t have lunch here after listening to your review.

Never been, but adding it to the “to do” list for lunch on our next trip down. Definitely. And no, I did not know there was a lounge at the Brown Derby. But now I do ;0)

Thanks again for an incredible lunch experience, Lou and John (Panda)!!!
