A Taste of Disney: “Epcot After Hours Wind Down”

Taste of DisneyThere is something new at WDW that I cannot wait to get to experience! The hard-ticketed, Epcot After Hours Wind Down, has made it’s way into the Epcot® park for a limited number of guests to enjoy 2 bonus hours past park closing. This special event which is currently priced at $35, also includes select drinks and small plates from one of four restaurants. These restaurants are La Cava del Tequila, Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room, Spice Road Table, and Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar.

The food items offered differ from restaurant to restaurant. However, you can usually expect a flight of beverages to sample and small snack courses. For example, Tutto Gusto serves 6 different options you can choose from. They range from things like wines with cheese, bread, and olives to wines with dessert shooters. On the other hand, La Cava del Tequila provides guests tastes of tequila and three appetizer samplers including shredded pork on a corn-cake, shrimp ceviche, and a tostada. The food sounds absolutely delicious, but keep in mind that the regular kitchen closes during this event, so you cannot order additional food if you’re still hungry!

Though it may be a little on the pricy side for the amount of food and beverage you get, nothing beats the experience. Can you imagine being one of the only guests walking around the Epcot®’s World Showcase at night? Personally, I would suggest eating a good breakfast and a late-afternoon big lunch, so that you can fully enjoy the Epcot After Hours Wind Down snacks without breaking the bank and having to purchase a dinner that day as well.

This week’s recipe is from La Cava del Tequila. Recipe brought to you by allears.net.

Blood Orange Margarita
La Cava del Tequila

Serving: 1

Ingredients:
1/8 Cup Arrow® Triple Sec
3/4 Cup Puree Blood Orange
1/8 Cup El Mayor Tequila Blanco
1/2 Fresh Lime
3/8 Cup Hibiscus Syrup
1 Small container of Hibiscus Salt

Method of Preparation:
Combine the Blood Orange puree, Arrow® Triple Sec Arrow, El Mayor Tequila Blanco, Hibiscus Syrup, and lime. Add ice and shake or mix well. Spread a small amount of the hibiscus salt on a small plate. Moisten the outer rim of the serving glass. Then dip the rim into the salt to lightly coat.

Have any of you enjoyed this new Epcot® after-dark experience?

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Kristin has taken many a family vacations as a child driving 24 hrs, cramped in the back of the car and fighting with her sister to get to Disney (definitely worth it though). She looks forward to sharing “A taste of Disney” with everyone each week.
