TOPIC: The Rivers of America in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is more than a beautiful, serene waterway that carries guests to and around Tom Sawyer Island. It is a storytelling vehicle rich in history, detail and tributes to real American history and folklore, as well as Disney films and characters as well. It has it’s own, comprehensive backstory, and this week, I welcome you into Liberty Square and Frontierland, and aboard the Liberty Belle, as we virtually explore the history of the Rivers of America. We will discuss it’s current and former attractions, including the Mike Fink Keelboats and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes, and some of its many wonderful details recorded LIVE inside the Magic Kingdom.

Yeah, the depth reading voice is awesome. That’s one of the “sounds of Disney World” that ingrained deep in my memory. If I could bring back one attraction of the Rivers of America, it would be Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island. I know, went straight to food, right? The Davy Crockett Canoes would be a nice touch as well, to bring back “more movement/life” into the area like Ryan mentioned. I actually took a few photos from the boat as we made out way around the river last trip down. Unfortunately, I think I was the only one on the boat doing so. As I recall, we had my mother and her husband with us as well on that experience, and as I was taking photos, my mother, wife and children were all wondering what in the world I was doing. LOL!!! Details guys. It’s alllll in the details.

Thanks again for a relaxing episode on the river, Lou and Ryan!!!
