AdventureOn a recent trip to Walt Disney World, I decided to conduct a little test when riding the monorail from Magic Kingdom Park.

I was there the end of December and first week in January when the parks were crowded with Disney holiday goers.

On separate occasions, day and night, I rode the Express Monorail back to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and the Resort Monorail to the TTC as well.

Due to the majority of Monorail riders heading back to the TTC on the Express Monorail, I found it quicker to hop on the Resort Monorail (no more than a five minute wait) which stops at the TTC.

Although you have to make a stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, many people do not realize that the Resort Monorail makes a stop at the TTC as well.

This is a great way to beat the crowds after a long night at MK!

How many of enjoy riding the Monorail? Have you found it convenient to ride the Resort Monorail or the Express Monorail? Comment below!

Since we never had a car at WDW and only relied on Disney transportation we never had a need to go to the TTC. However, one visit we stayed at POP during the time when AoA was half built. We found it quicker to hop on the AoA bus and walk to POP rather then stand in the looooong line that POP had.

Stan Solo, I completely agree. Taking the bus transportation from the resort areas, to and from the parks is my go to when I stay at a Disney resort as well. Great tip on Pop and AoA! Buses are the way to go but for those who are leaving MK and heading to the TTC, I was shocked to find out the Resort Monorail was faster than the Express Monorail. Thanks for reading!

I love riding the monorail. The resort ride is the way we go, I love the loop and the stops. Especially if I want to stop for a Dole Whip:)
