anna and elsa Walt Disney World meet and greet

Did you know, if you ask (nicely), some of the face characters will let you record messages of them saying hello to your loved ones back home? We had no idea! Some of you may be reading this and are surprised that we (Felicia & Sean) just realized we could do this, or for some of you, like us, it may come as a really pleasant surprise.

Here’s how we found out: During our last trip, we got to hang out with two of the cutest little kids in the whole world (OK, we’re a little biased, but they are really cute), our niece (3.5 yrs. old) and nephew (5.5 yrs. old).  They happened to be lucky enough to live within driving distance of Walt Disney World. Between visiting on a kid’s schedule, long lines, and the general business of the days in the parks, they never got to meet their favorite characters, Anna and Elsa (well, our niece’s favorite … our nephew says Frozen is for girls).

Later in the week, after they had returned home, we went back to the Magic Kingdom Park. That night, right after the fireworks, we headed toward Princess Fairytale Hall. While in line, we thought it would be so cool if Anna and Elsa could actually talk to our niece and nephew via video. We kind of laughed it off but then thought it couldn’t hurt to ask. The worse they can say is “no,” and if so, we would still have awesome photos and autographs to give them. When our turn came to visit Anna and Elsa, we asked the photographer if it would be possible to have them say a little hello. What resulted were two videos that made two special kids very, very happy!

Their mom said they were so excited the next morning when they had a special message from the Arendelle royal family waiting for them. To this day, both their parents say it’s the most-watched video they have. Who knew that 10 seconds could create such a lasting memory?

Have you ever asked a face character to record a video? If so, what character and what message did they have?

Felicia and Sean“New Yorkas” Felicia and Sean are avid Disney fans.  Their first vacation as a couple was in Walt Disney World.  They were engaged there, and also honeymooned there.  After a combined 30 trips to the World, they are self-professed Disney travel agents and enjoy helping family and friends plan magical Disney vacations.

My 12 year old daughter Anyka was not able to go along on our recent trip as planned, but while my friends and I were in WDW we saw Tinkerbell and she recorded a sweet video for her. A week later, Anyka had surgery and a cast member we had met sent a video of Merida saying “I heard you were very brave and I hope to see you soon!” during her recovery. Both are incredibly special to her!

I did not know you could ask the face characters to record a special message.

On a recent trip to WDW, we went to visit Mickey at Towne Hall. It happened to be my sister’s birthday and she was not able to join us on this trip..So I asked the cast member if Mickey could wish her a Happy Birthday…Well Mickey did more than wish her a Happy Birthday, he sang Happy Birthday to her…the video is priceless…We watch it over and over again…
