Listen to the Show

In my continuing series featuring Disney Legends, this week I want to share with you the story and work of Harper Goff. One of Walt Disney’s earliest Imagineers, his work on films such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and in the parks is classic Disney storytelling at its finest. From the attractions you may know he worked on, to a few you probably didn’t, I think you’ll leave with a new appreciation of a truly gifted artist.

The train story where Harper meets Walt is fantastic! Yes, looking forward to seeing an updated 20,000 leagues movie, in hope that it will reignite the story for the younger generations. I would have to say it’s a toss up between the Mansion and 20,000 leagues, with the edge going to the Mansion, as to what my favorite Harper Goff project is. Additionally because, the Mansion project also belongs to Marc Davis, who is a big personal favorite of mind. Really appreciate the time and effort you guys put into researching the Legends of Disney. Always a good listen. Thanks again for another fantastic show, Lou and Ryan!!!

(…nice touch at the end of the show)

  8. Good Show!

This show #436 is quite Timely!!!
Especially when coupled with the WDW post radio show Disney Announcement on {Thurs.} FEB. 25th: that the studio is once again resurrecting their retelling of 20,000 Leagues {Working Title: ‘Captain Nemo’}.
