Listen to the Show

Two of the many things I love are New Orleans and food, and when you combine those TWO into a newly-updated dining experience in Walt Disney World, it’s like hearing a Siren’s Song, so I had to go see (and taste) for myself. This past weekend, the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory reopened after a long refurbishment at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. So this week, I invite you to join me around the table as we sample, share, and review breakfast in NOLA, right in Walt Disney World.

Great review Mongello family! Been quite a few years since we stayed at POFQ, but I agree wholeheartedly that it’s a great little resort to stay at. Very quaint, as I recall, with lots of great New Orleans theming. The shimp and grits sounds like a winner to me. Good to hear you found a BONUS shrimp in your grits, Lou! LOL!!!

I want to go off topic today, and simply wish all the Disney community out there a Happy Thanksgiving. Hope everyone has a wonderful, extended weekend!

Thanks again for another appetizing review, Lou, Deanna, Marion and Nicholas. Now, it’s time to get ready for some turkey!!!

Another great review, Lou. It’s been about a year and a half since we’ve visited Port Orleans, but we’re headed back to The World in March. You’ve given us a great idea for a breakfast!

By the way, a “pee-can” is something you keep under your bed at night. Merriam-Webster lists the preferred pronunciation as pəˈkän.

LOVED this episode. I was drooling in my car. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in February and have a few quiet mornings planned – you better believe we will be at POFQ trying it all!

    Thank you 😀

Love this podcast with your family. It is with great relief that WDW has finally authenticated the food at Sassagoula. And I agree with Marion; I avoided this restaurant because of the clown-like Mardi Gras Jesters. Keep up the great podcasts Lou.
