Walt Disney World POP! Quiz – Walt Disney World Wedding ANSWERS

1. When did Walt Disney World’s Wedding Pavilion at the Grand Floridian Resort first open?

  1. July 15, 1995 – Although the Wedding Pavilion opened on July 15, 1995, the first wedding at this location was held on June 18, 1995. This event was televised on the the Lifetime TV channel and announced to the world that Walt Disney World was ready to  make bride’s dreams come true!! Located on a private island, the Wedding Pavilion at the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa can hold approximately 250 guest and can host up to 6 wedding ceremonies per day.
  2. July 1, 1998
  3. July 1, 1986

2. This year’s Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Dress collection features how many dresses?

  1. 6
  2. 5
  3. 4 – Designed by Alfred Angelo, the Disney princess inspired wedding dress collection officially began in 2011 with 7 gowns. The princesses who inspired the original dresses were Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Tiana. The most current collection of wedding gowns features the inspiration for four princesses; Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, and Mulan. Even if you are not a bride-to-be, the Angelo Disney Bride collection is worth a look as it is interesting to see how the Disney princesses influenced specific elements of the gowns.

3. How many wedding collections are available at Walt Disney World for Brides-to-be?

  1. 3 – I was very surprised to learn this trivia nugget! Walt Disney World offers three base packages/collections for brides to choose from in order to plan their perfect wedding day. The first plan, Memories, accommodates up to 4 people, while the second plan, Escape, can host parties of 18. The third collection, which would be my choice if I won the lottery, is called Wishes and offers a truly customized experience with the help of a on-site Walt Disney wedding planner. Plans start at $2500 and continue upwards from there. Of course, the sky is the limit when planning with Disney…if you have a large enough checkbook!
  2.  5
  3. Unlimited

4. True or False: The Bride and Groom can invite Disney characters to their wedding ceremony. Characters can be invited to the wedding reception only and are not permitted at wedding ceremonies. There are a plethora of characters to choose from with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, and Prince Charming topping the list as most popular.  A character’s presence does not come cheaply and will run the bride about $800 – $1200 per half hour for each character.

5. True or False: Besides holding a wedding ceremony at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, the Bride and Groom can host their wedding ceremony in 3 of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks. (This was another piece of trivia that I found personally interesting).  At Walt Disney World, guests can book dream wedding ceremonies and unique receptions at a large variety of resorts; however, at present, wedding celebrations can only be hosted at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. What I thought was particularly fascinating, was the fact that brides can have their weddings and receptions at any one of the eleven World Showcase pavilions.

Erin Stough has always loved Disney, but the magic of the parks truly captured her imagination during a mother-daughter trip in 2001. The obsession began and Erin hasn’t looked back! When she isn’t devouring Disney related books, Erin spends time with her wonderful (and patient) husband and super pup Milo.
