WDW Tip of the Week: Get Money from WDW to Spend on Your Trip

We heard a rumor a while back that Walt Disney World was offering Guests who stay on property a $10 credit for every night they refuse Mousekeeping (housekeeping). So, on our last trip to WDW, we inquired about it, and it was true! Your resort will give you a gift card proportionate to the number of nights of your stay (At the time of this publishing, $10 per night minus the last night’s stay).

We stayed for 8 nights, and we received a $70 credit!! It is unknown how long this option will remain in effect, but if you are visiting in the near future, it’s definitely something to inquire about. The way it works is when you check in, tell the Cast Member at the desk that you want to skip Mousekeeping, and they’ll send you an e-mail shortly after check-in with an electronic gift card on it that can be used anywhere on property.

It’s all or nothing though. You either skip Mousekeeping all nights, or you don’t get the credit. That being said, if you need more towels or bathroom necessities, they’ll deliver them, and it isn’t held against you. You just won’t get the bed-made-and-room-cleaned service.

Now, given tightened security these days, and since no one is officially coming to your room each day to clean it, you may get a security check-in. We might have, but we were out all day, so we don’t know if they came by and peeked into our room. Just keep in mind that may happen.
