If you have a young child in your life, you are probably pondering what sort of small gift to purchase for his/her school teacher. Personally, I have many acquaintances who are elementary teachers, and each year, I hear them mention how they would much prefer parents spend money on something for classroom use than on a personal gift (Leave it to teachers to always be putting their students first!). A few years ago, one such teacher told me how they had asked parents to please consider purchasing a picture book for the classroom in lieu of a gift for them.
