The Skyway to/from Fantasyland/Tomorrowland closed in 1999. It opened with the park in 1971 and was originally a "D-Ticket" attraction. It closed exactly 5 years after the attraction closed in Disneyland.

and...
currently the two loading zones are still there -- unused. I would like to see the one in Fantasyland turned into a meet and greet zone for Pinocchio characters. -- but that will never happen.
Adam,
First, let me sayWELCOME

That being said, I agree with you about the unfortunately unused loading areas. When I was there last week, there were afew characters at the Fantasyland one, and if I remember correctly, they were from Alice in Wonderland.

where exactly are these loading areas? nothing from my last trip is popping out at me
thanks!![]()
Jennifer
The loading area in Fantasyland is near the exit of It's A Small World. There is a small pond in front of it. Looks like a chalet on a small hill. There is a wooden fence around it. It's on your right if you are heading to Liberty Square from Fantasyland!
The one in Tomorrowland is next to the entrance to Space Mountain. On the right as you are about to enter SM. Underneath it is a walkway and some restrooms.
Ring any bells???
You know, I have always known where the Fantasyland one is, but I have never really noticed the Tomorrowland one.
1Hour... maybe you can get us a pic of each on your next trip!![]()

AHHHH! yes! i saw the chalet! wondered what that was!
i was there in 1992 and i don't remember the sky way ride at all...![]()
but...the one in fantasyland would be a GREAT character place instead of the stroller parking it seems to be now...
thanks for the info!

Actually with a big rehab coming to It's A Small World, I'd like to see them remove the old skyway station and tie this area in with IASW, if there is a good way to do it. I think that there probably is enough room that some imaginatve work on the facade of the building might make this possible. Moving the queue entrance and exit for IASW would help cut down on the congestion in its current location crowd flow for IASW and Peter Pans queues really can make this area a bit of a bottleneck at times.Originally Posted by adambreakey

The station is currently being used as a character meet place from waht I heard.

I know the Small World upgrade does include better stroller parking for that area, but not sure how. I do hope they take over the Skyway station.
