Is dolphin and swan a part of walt disney now?

I know before they were somehow affiliated with disney ,but not considered disney resorts.

For example when i looked for package deals before the Dolphin and Swan hotels would not come up. But they were still under disney name.

Now they come up in the package deal searches? Does this mean they are now officially considered one of Disney World resorts(such as they get the same benefits and ect.)?

I'm just confused now that they show up on the search.

    Thanks!

They are still owned and operated by Starwood, but enjoy most of the same perks as WDW Resort guests. Guests at the Swan & Dolphin do get access to Extra Magic Hours and Disney Transportation. One thing that is different is you have to pay to park at the Swan and Dolphin (even if you are staying there - $9 a night to self-park).

We live so close though it'd be 1000 times cheaper to bring everyone down in 1 car then have to pay 300+ on plane tickets alone.

I would check the Starwood hotels group website, and see if perhaps they have a customer rewards program. Some hotel chains will offer discounts and perks like free parking to their rewards program members.

Either way, $9 a day for parking would still be cheaper than plane tickets.

Also, be warned that it is not like Disney where you pay once for parking and it is good for the rest of the day. If you leave the lot and come back, they charge you again. At least this was the experience when parking there for MouseFest's Mega Mouse Meet. Perhaps someone who has actually stayed there can be more specific.

disneydame2004 is spot onwith answer. We are going back for our 5 visit the location is absolutly right on. down side with not being Disney owened is not being able to charge to room, and no mickey soap etc, but we love the place. Never had car for any visit very much central for most things. Use boats for Epcot and MGM, Disney busses for the rest no problem.

When I was checking for teacher discounts at Swan and Dolphin, I looked at booking the dining plan along with it. You couldn't get the Disney Dining plan if you are staying at the Swan and Dolphin, so it must not be officially a Disney resort.
