Campfire Movie - What's the deal?

So has anyone been to a campfire movie? I know the schedule is on mouseplanet. However, I'm curious if anyone has been to one. I'm assuming they are at the Fort Wilderness campgrounds. There is a campfire and sing along. So has anyone been? What have been your experiences? Also, does it cost anything?

    Thanks!

I've never been before, but if I remember right I think I've heard somewhere before that it is free...

there is no cost...they usually have chip and dale come out and they have a singer who sings a few songs. They have a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows and then the play a movie on the big screen. They have a consesslon stand with popcorn and stuff. Very fun for kids!

It is FREE and held everynight at FW near the Meadows Pool. The evening starts with the lighting of 2 large campfires, then a CM leads the audience in campfire songs. Chip and Dale come out to visit, then a Disney movie is played on a outdoor screen. Seatin is first come first served and is bleacher style as well as a few ground level benches with backs. You can bring your own smores or purchase items at the "Chuck Wagon" at Disney prices. The movie schedual is posted at the begining of each month and can range from classics like The Appledumpling Gang to more recent things like Narnia. As a side note you will not be able to drive to the campfire, you can drive to FW but you will need to take an internal bus from the parking lot to the show.

Fort Wildernes IS the campground. FW has an internal bus system to get around because it is a large resort. Depending on how you get to the campground will dictate how you get to the campfire show. Tell me where you will be coming from and I will try to send you the easiest way.

Maggie, the reason I asked was that I was at Fort Wilderness Lodge a couple weeks ago and they said that there is no bus to the campground from there. I should have been more specific.

So I'm assuming you catch the bus at Fort Wilderness campground? We'll just be driving and parking... somewhere. :-) If you know an easiest way to get there that would be appreciated!

The Wilderness Lodge has a boat that travels to Fort Wilderness

Unless things have changed since Oct(Not really impossible to have happened)there is a bus that goes from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness, once inside FW it becomes a FW orange route bus that will drop you off at the 800 loop which has a path to the movies. If that bus route has changed(I've seen bus routes change from 1 week to the next) your best bet then would be to take a boat to FW then walk to the Settlement stop and catch either the Yellow(will drop off at "back" of movies) or Orange(will drop off at "front" of movies) Outpost bus. To get back after you will catch the same bus going the other way, it will say Yellow or Orange Settlement(not Outpst) and then back to the boat. If the Orange route does still go out to the Lodge then you will only need to get on that bus(settlement for going home) to get to and from the movies.

If you drive to FW you will park in the overflow lot and catch a bus from there, that bus station is called OUTPOST. The Yellow or Orange bus the will also say Settlement will get you there. The driver will usually announce that it is the campfire stop, if they don't then you are going to have to pay attention to the loop numbers. On the Orange route it can be either 900 and Meadows Trading Post(second stop I think) or 800(next after 900 and a shorter walk). On the Yellow route it is also the 2nd stop(not sure on the numbers this time but I think 1500)
and 3rd stop(1400 I think you will walk through the loop if you use this stop)To get home go back to whatever bus stop you want to walk to(try a different one just for fun)and catch the bus(color won't matter)that says(OUTPOST).

I hope this doesn't sound too confusing, in practice it isn't bad, I promise!!
