Spaceship Earth Updates

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I just went to Disney last week and it was my first trip back in 10 years. I loooove Spaceship Earth, but was convinced at the end of the ride there used to be more of the future. I know it was out-dated and most likely replaced, but tell me I'm not crazy in remembering space families (and those lovable animatronic Disney space dogs!) Or am I just confusing it was Horizons? I swear Spaceship Earth depicted future families as well. Can an expert help me?!

Welcome......I think (but am not positive) that you are thinking of Horizons (may she rest in peace)....SSE is scheduled for an update - it will be intereasting to see what they do!

Yeah, I agree you're thinking of Horizons where the kid is "walking" the dog while floating in zero gravity. Man I miss that attraction.

i heard it was supposed to end early 2008 ( and i think it already started)

Boo being closed in September. But thats a long time for it to be closed. Whole scenes are likely to be different with that amount of time, but then again IASW didnt change much and it was out for awhile too

The last time I checked the Disney World website (within last month), it said it was scheduled to be closed the month of July, along with the other favorite of mine The Haunted Mansion. I was not the least bit pleased about it, but I couldn't change vacation plans just for those two rides.

Just to add to my previous reply. I just went and checked the latest operational update on the disney website. The Haunted Mansion is scheduled to be closed June and July, but they have taken the Spaceship Earth off the list. Maybe that means they have put off the refurbishment it for now. I would enjoy seeing that open.

We are driving down and will get there August 4th thru August 11th. So I REALLY hope at least one of these is open! Both would be great though! My fiancee wants to see The Haunted Mansion soooo badly!

"Gawrsh," (replacing explicitive^^) I'm going down in September for my FIRST ever trip without my family! I'm 19 & going w/ a bunch of friends, all but 1 of which are complete noobs. So they won't get to see those... On the positive side, they'd think I was crazy for raving about attractions that, I know, really do need at least maintenance. July 06 my audio cut out on SSE!
