    Great Movie Ride Finale

I just replied to a post someweher else asking about the GMR, and I began to compile a list of the movies I remember seeing at the end.

Then I got to wondering if we could all come up with the complete list of movies seen in the attraction's finale.

Here is what I remember so far:

    Godfather
    Gone With the Wind
    Good Morning Vietnam
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Lady & The Tramp
    The Ten Commandments
    Sister Act
Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs
    Saturday Night Fever
    Blazing Saddles
    Trading Places
    Taxi Driver
    Ben Hur
    The Terminator
    King Kong
    Wizard of Oz
    The Sting
    Return of the Jedi
    Independence Day
    Amadeus
    Chariots of Fire
    Young Frankenstein
    Star Trek: The Motion Picture
    Top Gun
    Flubber
    Karate Kid
    10
    Tootsie
    From Here to Eternity
    Officer and a Gentleman
    Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    Streetcar Named Desire
    Lion King
    Armageddon
    Patton
    Malcom X
    Thelma and Louise
    Sound of Music
    Lassie
    Honey I Shrunk the Kids
    Bridge over the River Kwai
    And of course, Star Wars

I know I missed a ton (especially the oldies), so if you have any more, go ahead and post 'em!

(Actually, it's Lou, not Adam, but hey... I've been called worse)

    Nice additions...

How could I POSSIBLY forget Airplane? Do you like Gladiator movies?

Sorry Ace! I had just read another post by Adam.

    I do humbly apologize!

But thought of a few more!

    Dr. Zhivago
    You Only Live Twice
The Shiek or The Son of the Shiek - Rudolph Valentino
Charlie Chaplin - I think it's 'The Gold Rush'

I'll try to come up with some more!

Okay, Linda and I tried to check out the finale of the Great Movie Ride while we were at WDW this last weekend, but to was so crowded we only got to go once! emind me never to go to WDW during spring break again.
These are some of the movies we noticed that were not already on the list:
    Fantasia
    True Grit
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    North by Northwest
    It's a Wonderful Life

We did count over 100 individual clips, but there were some duplications of movies. So, I estimate you're still missing something like 30-35 clips.

    Thanks, James (and Linda)!!

(Once I saw your list, I just shook my head for missing those!)

Maybe everyone from the DWT site should go down to WDW on a "research trip" so we can try and figure them out. Think of it as a business trip.

There's a clip from the original Flubber movie. . .but wasn't it called The Absent Minded Professor? Was that something completely different? The scene I'm thinking of is of the basketball players. . .

Ok, I got the family in on this, and here's what we've come up with. . .

    These we're pretty sure about:
    Three Men and a Baby
    Citizen Kane
    Shakespeare in Love

    These are other possibilities:
    The Killing Fields
    Lawrence of Arabia
    High Noon
    African Quenn
    20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
    Annie
The Way We Were (Barabara Streisand kiss)
    Singing in the Rain

These are doubtful, but see what you think:
    Casablanca
    Beauty and the Beast
    Titanic

That's what we came up with, we aren't exactly sure which are right. We leave in the fifth for a Disney Trip (which happens to be my graduation present), so we'll definitely check it then.

    Great Movie Ride Montage

Okay, we've recently returned from WDW where I was able to tape the finale sequence of the Great Movie Ride with my digital camera. I've spent a lot of time looking at these brief clips, and I've identified about 90% of them. I'm still having trouble with some of the classic B&W movie clips, and I'd like to get some help if I can figure out how to upload a video clip! I have tried to upload several video clips in Quicktime format. Please let me know if they work, and if anyone can identify the movies.
There are at least 115 different clips in this montage.
Here's what I have so far, in roughly the correct order. The items in parenthesis I'm not sure about.
