Pal Mickey reviews/Questions

my pal mickey tells all the lame jokes but rarely ever updates me on parade times or about short lines. Is it something I'm doing wrong? He can be too much to carry sometimes. Does anyone have a link to a good lanyard I can buy online (to lazy to go anywhere). Sometimes he acts up at Epcot but other than all those little faults he is a sweet little guy and me and my girlfriend love him to death. When we miss disney we just turn him on and hear some of his songs.

Not sure why you dont get the parade or line updates. I know at one point I thought he was broke because he just kept repeating everything like he was a Chucky Dolljust turn out he needed new batteries. Anywho I digress try changing his batteries he should update himself as soon as you enter one of the parks. I know on more then one occassion he has stated that parades where about to begin so start looking for a spot. He also has told me about short line times in Epcot like for Test Track but he lied that dayI say give him fresh batteries and see what happens. I hope that helps

Also take him back to the Pal Mickey Shop on Main Street and they can change his sensor which could go bad. This happened to mine and as soon as they changed it everything was great.

When you take him back to the PM shop, they aren't changing his sensor (that can't be done as it is hardwired). What they are doing is simply resetting or rebooting him. Usually, when Mick is not talking much, it is because his batteries are weak as stated above or that the sensor in his nose is blocked or pointed in the wrong direction. It isn't like a cell phone which can pick up a signal 360 degrees or through solid objects. There has to be a clear path between receiver (Mick's nose) and the transmitter. Once you know what the sensors look like, they are often fairly easy to spot. Just ask a CM to point them out to you.

I'm taking my 3 grandchidlren for their first time at WDW in February. They'll be 4, 3, and 1. Would a Pal Mickey be good for them to have? They didn't have them the last time we were down there.

They are pricey frist of all and most kids have a wandering attention span, so they may not pay attention to him laughing or vibrating to give an update or play a game. also a heavy item for a child to carry.
