    Question Haunted Mansion Building

As I was reading through some of my past trip reports I came across one of my favorite shots of the Haunted Mansion:

Anyway it got me to thinking... we all know that Cinderella's Castle has absolutely no stone or mortar in it and it is simply a well designed facade, but what about the Haunted Mansion? I mean, this looks like a real house to me, real bricks and stone. Does anyone know for sure?

Very good question. I have never thought to ask. If I could get to any of my HM books, I would look it up!
    Pat will know.

Hmm... not sure about real bricks, but it is most definitely a facade. If you look at a satellite photo of the Magic Kingdom, you'll see this HUGE show building behind the "mansion." The imagineers truly did a fantastic job of making the mansion look real.

There is a real house that was used as inspiration for WDW's Haunted Mansion: the Harry Packer Mansion in Jim Thorpe, PA Welcome To The Harry Packer Mansion

Ooo, that house is beautiful Pat! I wonder if it would ever come up for sale.
    Probably not.

It's actually a bed & breakfast, and they host murder mysteries there!

Ok yeah I should clarify. I know it's obviously a facade but I'm wondering if it's fiberglass or real building materials y'konw?

Yep I took it from the little boardwalk across from the DVC booth in frontierland (over by CBJ).
