    No Experation Option...

Hi, we're going to Disney World this August and are going for 10 nights. We have the 10 day Magic Your Way ticket with water parks option and park hopper. The way i can figure it, we will be going to theme parks a total of 6 days and 2 days worth of water park or Disney Quest. When is the latest time i can add the No Experation option to the tickets. And is the cost based on how many days are left after the vacation has ended or is it a flat rate based on the actual number of days and options purchased on the Magic Your Way ticket. With the scenerio listed above, would it be worth it to add the No experation from a dollars and cents perspective. I figure the next trip we could just get a room package and do 7 nights at a deluxe hotel like the Polynesian. I know it's a weird request but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unfortunatley the add on of No Expiration is a flat rate. With your 10 day ticket...you will have to dish out an additional $180 bucks to add on the no expiration, but if you already know you aren't going to use all of your days...you might just have to fork up the cash as you wouldn't want to have to pay for days you are never going to be able to use again. Even if you only use 8 days...you still have to pay for the 10 days to add on the extra feature. Hope that helps

CAUTION: Only buy the no expiration option if the left-over days will TOTALLY cover you for your next trip (or trips). If you have to add even one or two more days worth of tickets for a future trip, then you wasted HUNDREDS of dollars on the no expiration option.

    EXAMPLE:

You're going to use 6 park days this time. Let's say whenever you come back you'll also want to go to parks for 6 days. If you buy the 10-day NE ticket now, you'll use 6 of the days and have 4 park days left over, right? So you'll have 4 park days for the next trip, meaning you'll need to buy a 2-day ticket for each person next time. Here's how the money shakes out:

    NO EXPIRATION OPTION
    10-day NE ticket now -- $431
    2 day ticket later -- $148
    Total for 12 park days = $579

    SEPARATE TICKETS OPTION
    6-day ticket now -- $231
    6-day ticket later -- $231
    Total for 12 park days = $462

As you can see, in this scenario, AVOIDING the no expiration option SAVES you $137!!! And that's $137 per adult.

However, if you are sure you will need ONLY 4 park days for your next trip, then the no expiration option is a good deal. You can add that option at any time within 14 days of the first use of that ticket.

You don't mention when your nex trip is. But, if it's within a year, you might want to consider a Premium Annual Pass - especially if you would be staying at a delux resort. The pass would be a few more dollars ($616.64) but you would more than make up for it with the savings in hotel costs. Plus, with a PAP, you would be eligible to purchase a Disney Dining Experience card and able to save 20% at most sit down restaurants.

Just a thought. Nothing like complicating a simple question.

The only time it really makes sense to purchase the no expiration option is if you have three or more park days left on your ticket, you won't be returning within a year AND doing so would completely eliminate the need for purchasing admission on your next trip.

Note: If you are not staying on property you have to pay $11/day parking. I would get the No Expiration option right away.

Thanks to everyone for the generous help. I see I really have to do some figuring. At least I have plenty of time to do so. The next trip would probably be in two years and would be a shorter one; 7 nights stay and 5 days in the theme parks. Would try to go when free dining and get a Magic Your Way package with 1 day base ticket. Then I would use the other 4 leftover days from this trip for the rest .... Does this make sense?

Just want to say this forum is a great place to visit and post. Alot of real nice people and all Disney fans!!! Lou was right....definately one of the friendliest forums around!
